We booked our Kakadu air tour when we panned our trip,10 months ago. We were so glad we did, the day was truly awesome.
The sights we saw from above were gorgeous. The Aboriginal Cultural museum was educational, it really gave us a bigger picture of how the Aboriginal people live and continue to keep their traditions alive. The boat tour was also educational, the views of the lilypads and lotus were inspiring.The wild life was there to be seen as well.
Our lunch was ceasar salad with ground kangaroo, the first time we ate any roo meat. It was tasty. There are many other options on the menu.
We would highly recommend spending the day doing this. This is a once ina. lifeime experience.

Really enjoyed this tour of Kakadu by air, along with the boat trip down Yellow River. The views were spectacular and nice to get friendly, personal service. Only criticisms are if running a sight seeing charter would probably invest in planes that have the wings positioned above the windows. Loved the old Beecraft Baron we travelled in but the beautiful view was obscured because of the wings..... Also had to pay for our own lunch which I think should have been included. Lunch was a bit pricey and ok...... keeping in mind it is a remote location.... Overall a lovely day and saw a magnificent part of our country...

Just returned from completing the Kakadu Skytour with Kakadu Air and the associated Yellow Water Cruise. I am at best a reluctant flier and was dubious to start with. James the pilot conducted and absolutely fantastic trip. Providing detailed commentary as we travelled to and from Kakadu and ensured we were looked after for the day. Plenty of time to take in the sights. If you are short on time this is an excellent way to get a taste of Kakadu and the surrounds.

We took a trip to the Tiwi Islands, where we spent the day with the local aboriginal people, seeing them produce arts, crafts and clothing. After a short flight from Darwin, we were welcomed at the airport by our driver and Tiwi Islander guide. We visited workshops to see artistisans at work, had morning tea with the islander women who were painting shells in traditional patterns and colours, heard stories related to the symbols and totems, then shared billy tea and damper slathered with butter and golden syrup. A visit to the museum, which has a comprehensive display of traditional artefacts and missionary history is a must. We participated in a traditional smoking ceremony and blessing, and were treated to a display of song and dance by both the men and the women. Lunch was provided, before we visited some of the original mission buildings and heard stories of the part that the Tiwi islands played in WW11. A visit to the cemetery gave us an insight into the reason for the iconic Tiwi funeral totem poles. The afternoon concluded with a visit to a local beach and pretty billabong. Although off the beaten track, this tour is educational and enlightening. Not to be missed if you can fit it in while in the Top End.

We had a truly great day, flew from Darwin to cooinda landed, met by bus, taken to cultural centre,plenty of time, then driven to boat for yellow water cruise...really good, saw heaps of bird life, jabiru included, and lots of crocs. Then driven back to cooinda for own time..lunch or whatever, then back to plane and fly back to Darwin. All the staff were so polite, and helpful.. And knowledgable..we would recommend this trip to everyone,it is a fabulous way to see jim jim, and twin falls,the flood plains,Adelaide and Sth alligator rivers,and so much more... Go ahead ...do it!

We did an hour long flight and enjoyed every minute. It is definitely the only way to see Kakadu. You would never know what you are missing from the road. Commentary was really good and we had ample photo opportunities with the pilot flying back over the falls so they were visible from both sides. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. Thanks to everyone involved and to Amber for your recommendations. Will definitely recommend.

I did the day trip and Yellow Water cruise, drive out, fly back option. I made sure the organisers knew I needed a gluten free lunch and received a positive response. On arrival however the tour guide wasn't interested and we were herded into the buffet area without opportunity to speak with kitchen staff.
The day tour itself was very worthwhile since I had limited time to visit. The coach was comfy and the cruise tour guide was amazing.. Lisa knew the area and shared her passion and knowledge. The coach guide however had limited knowledge and I learned more from reading the display boards in front of the art works. The pilot was friendly but the ride rough with limited visibility and cramped conditions. I wasn't able to take great photos from the air because of the tinted windows. Such a shame because I booked the day just for the flight back.

we did the Kakadu Daytripper and found was a good way to see Kakadu from the air as well as the Yellow River Cruise. pilot Tristan made our day most enjoyable, explaining some of the sights,
as well as ensuring we found out way to cafe for lunch and also to the Cruise dock. flying out at 9.30am and back by 5pm meant we did not have to rush in the morning and were back in time
to relax before dinner. would certainly recommend.

Our family loved this flight- we did 1/2 hour flight with Steve (pilot) and enjoyed every minute. Well worth it- it gives you such a better sense of the area as there is so much you miss from the road. Thank you Kakadu Air!

Thank you Andrew & James for a wonderful day. From the moment we departed Darwin at 9 am & flew for an hour & a half over Kakadu & Arnhemland over the wonderful falls. A stop in Cooinda & the Yellow Water Cruise and a flight back to Darwin, No better way to see all the wonder flora & fauna with such a professional company, nothing was too much trouble for our
wonderful pilots. Thank you for making it such a special day for us.
