The name of this attraction is a bit of a misnomer - this isn't the 'Museum of Brisbane' in the sense that it includes anything near a comprehensive look at the history of the city. But it's still worth a visit, particularly if you're doing the clock Tower Tour or having a look at the Town Hall auditorium. There's currently a very interesting exhibition of 50 years of photos from the 1890s by an amateur local photographer. And the Museum makes a real effort to provide interesting activities for children. Definitely worth a few minutes of your time.

I had booked a free guided tour online with the museum highlights and separately a tour to the bell tower. Both tours were worth it. The guide Maite from Spain was very easy for me to understand in English and told me enthusiastically about her highlights. There are also tours in Spanish and mandarin.
Larger bags and backpacks have to be locked in a compartment with a numerical code.

It’s at Southbank which is an amazing location- full of vibrancy. Especially on a clear day. The museum offers something for everyone to enjoy.

This Museum is free entry on the top floor of City Hall
I found this to be an Average Museum, there was things to see on the 1st and 2nd floors. The best part was you can walk up to the reception desk and book yourself in for a free tour of the clock tower (Highly recommend this). Staff lovely.

Local Art work on display was beautiful along the well restored City Hall with impressive Auditorium. Strongly recommend the City Hall Tour.

Very nice little museum. Artworks combined with informative posters gives a quick overview over the history and development of Brisbane.
Good idea with the historic pub, but it must be developed further, now it is a dead and sterile room, very far from a lively meeting place.

This is a lovely museum showcasing different art collections depicting local history and some new art forms from present day local artists. It is at Level 3 of Brisbane city hall building via King Grorge Square entrance. The building also houses the very unique Shingles Restaurant, where people come mostly in the daytime for tea and scones.

The museum had some interesting art works as parts of its exhibitions. There are some great images from the genesis of Brsibane which i found most interesting. A small but worthy museum.

No entry fee - amazing. Make sure you go up the clocktower. Unfortunately, the perspex makes taking good photos difficult, but the view is excellent.
