We decided to see the 'Qld to a T' exhibition through their T-towels display & we were pleasantly surprised. We enjoyed looking back over time through the various T-towels displayed...who could forget Joh & Flo Bjelke Petersen for a laugh or two?

The library was wonderful. We checked out the Mabo exhibit and the amazing “The Great and Grand Rumpus” exhibit which held us fascinated for ages. Incredible job by the children, and adults.

We attended the Great and Grand Rumpus exhibition currently showing at the State Library. 5 stars for sure. The exhibition curator, Daniel, was very lively and knowledgeable. It was a pleasure to walk around this exhibition with his insight. Would highly recommend to all ages and we will probably attend again before it finishes in April.

What an extraordinary building and a shame that I did not know of the guided tours when visiting. I read that the Library "sets a benchmark for State Libraries within Australia and the Southern hemisphere" and the guided tour takes visitors on a comprehensive journey through most levels. I could easily immerse myself for at least a day browsing the various collections that reflect Queensland's history and heritage. The ladies at Reception were most helpful with one vacating her seat to give me an enthusiastic description of facilities and things to see within the building. In hindsight, I should have remained in the building in lieu of visiting the Gallery of Modern Art. As I was leaving, on Bodhi Tree Terrace, I noticed the ghost gum, planted in 2009 as a sapling from the historic Tree of Knowledge, Barcaldine, which was a 200-year-old Corymbia aparrerinja ghost gum poisoned in 2006.

Beautiful architecture that was kept as is since the construction date. All of the shelves are ordered neatly, the staff is highly knowledgable, and the library is excellent!

This is a great building over several levels with lots of light areas and some displays. We enjoyed a walk around as we were passing.

The State Library is found in an unprepossessing green building. It usually has a temporary exhibition for people who are visiting. Great place for a State Library and the cafeteria is good though it does get busy at lunchtime.

Presented in beautiful videos, artifacts, documents, paintings, traditional items & interactive medium.
If you watch every video & read every document, it could hours to view the whole exhibition.
I found it quite emotional.
In the conclusion of one video, "We are Aboriginal people, so if you come along for the ride, for the journey, you will learn something." I learnt a lot.
