A lovely old church whose cornerstone was laid by Conan Doyle (Sherlock Holmes fame). Lovely people and nice service with free mediumship message if your loved one comes through. Also runs classes and hosts one-night events such as Lisa Williams (celebrity medium from the UK).

This church is not a tourist attraction nor a church that would attract sightseeing activity unlike a cathedral with its soaring architecture. It is for regular meetings such as Sunday services (2.30pm; 7pm)where there is the usual hymn singing (standing), a reading from such books as the spiritual teachings of White Eagle (channelled via Grace Cooke medium for 40yrs from the 1930's on), overheads (spiritual messages from the friends & relatives of individuals attending) by a visiting medium with refreshments afterward. Other activities during the week occur eg Spiritual Healing & Development Circle (Mon, Tues 7.30pm; Weds 10am, 7.30pm); Clairvoyant Readings (Tues 10am) all starting up again Mon 3rd Feb 2014. The building has no redeeming features of note & services can be mundane as well as boring. Mediumship quality is variable and can be poor as well as 'enlightened & uplifting'. It is a lay church administered by committee. Noteworthy however is that Sir Arthur Conan Doyle laid the foundation stone over a 100yrs ago.

I like to visit different Spiritual Churches and this one was very good. It gave me time to stop and 'chill out'. People are friendly and respectful.

With so many churches and cathedrals in the area, I was expecting much from the Spiritual Church of Brisbane, but was disappointed. The church looks like any other building and it is clearly for functional, religious purposes only, rather than an attraction in it's own right. Attend if you are religious, but as a tourist attraction, don’t bother. I should note that it was closed when I passed by, so I can't comment on the interior.
