Was once great but now it is gone

Gone. Please bring back the origianl owners. This was once a wonderul winery that was welcoming and the wine and food were wonderful. We wanted to try the winery again but the gates are always closed. Please come back Suzie and Tod. we have missed your wonderful soup during winter, your lovely fire and great chats as well as your wonderful wines

We decided to call into Mount Jagged winery on our way back to Adelaide from Victor Harbor. Despite the signs, we drove up to a gate which said that it was closed indefinitely and apologising for any inconvenience caused. Would have been helpful to have the Closed sign visible from the main road. On enquiring at the McLaren Vale Information Centre, it appears that the winery has been sold to some Chinese concern but no-one knows what is happening.

Homely little winery with good wines and a good cheese platter

We called in here for a cheese platter for lunch because we had passed the winery so many times in our travels around the Fleurieu Peninsula and thought it would be a nice way to finish our time in this spectacular area. The lady who served us was very welcoming and we spent a nice time talking to her. The fire was going so we sat in front of that and bought a bottle of sauvignon blanc to share with our cheese platter which highlighted lots of local produce. The wine was excellent and we will keep an eye out for Mt. Jagged Sauvignon Blanc from now on.

We visited here thanks to Cousin Cally & Tony whom we stayed with at Hindmarsh Island not too far away. The selection of wines is extensive and covers all taste pallets. We were especially taken with their sparkling wines, Pink Heath Pinot Noir & Pale Rush Chardonnay. The platter enhanced the wine tasting perfectly. But the soundtrack from "The Boat That Rocks" playing in the background complimented the occasion perfectly.

A great little rustic winery with some interesting decor for a wine tasting and great platters with lovely views over the valley
SomeGreat wines to be had such as their tangled rope red. Sav blanc and the sparking red is yummy and all at very reasonable prices
Very nice hosts make you feel welcome
I Recommend a visit

We went to mt jagged winery today and would recommend it to anyone who is in the area!
It is a small family run business and the wine is incredible and very reasonable priced. We didn’t have any of the food platters but they looked amazing!

Love this spot

We have visited Mt Jagged several times and it has always been superb thanks to the friendly service and excellent wines. We always have the lunch platter YUM and relax outside with the great views. On our last visit they were very busy yet the service was still of their normal excellent standard and they still made every one feel special. I love the easy going style paired with a good explanation of their great wines. Thanks.

Easy going and so happy

We went for a winetasting and platter and they were very good indeed. Very pleasant owners who made the experience most enjoyable. Wine tasting was informative and relaxed and the platter beautiful and excellent content. The experience was very relaxed and the owners were quite happy that you stroll around the vineyards. interesting artifacts to look at as well. Enjoy also the chickens that will also like some of your cheese!!

Beautiful Surprise

We've had a few lunches in lots of wineries, and this has been the most enjoyable experience. From Suzanne, the owner, to her girls, the chooks. The only time we stopped laughing we were eating the best platter one could wish for.
It's rustic, old and welcoming and by the way the wines are excellent.
We will definitely visit again.
Too busy enjoying ourselves to take photos.
