We booked online, arrived early and were invited in. Leave your bags and coats in the lockers provided. It took approx 2 hours to photograph all the activities, you are required to get into positions on the floor and climb on props. The other participants were courteous as we moved around the gallery. This activity is fun for couples or families, a person working there helped us to take some of the group photos which was nice. We had so much fun!

Concept is good though very over-priced entry fee just for wall murals where you pose for photos taken by others in your group and being a couple made for lonely photos. Note some scenes required laying on the floor or bending to get the best pose.

The price is way to high for the average 3D experience. It is just paintings on the wall that you take photos of with a camera for a slight 3D experience. It feels a bit like a sideshow experience at a ride at a rural agricultural show in the 1980s!

AMAZING! i would totally recommend. although the place its set in is undwhelming this makes the trip better. its great for actors and just to have fun. staff are fun and friendly and make sure your visit is as enjoyable as possible.

This place is just so much fun. It's always changing. Great for a laugh.You can take your time and are not made to feel rushed at all. Lots of amazing photo opportunities.

Fabulous activity for a rainy day. It was busy but we went towards the end of the day so it wasn't too bad. Some people were even considerate.

best day in Melbourne . well organised great fun and we all enjoyed it. My brother in law was a bit sceptical but after a few shots he was posing with the best of them . Do NOT go alone it is an interactive experience

ArtVo is a great concept and created by some very talented artist. It is very likely one of the few experiences keeping the Dockland Precinct a place to visit. However, it was disappointing for us due to lack of staff to keep people respecting others in the space.
We were instructed upon getting our introductory talk that they were understaffed on the day we visited, but that in some of the galleries there would be staff if we wanted to ask someone to take a family photo. We did not see a single staff member during our 45 minutes in the gallery. We also didn't manage to get a family photo with the four of us. We didn't want to ruin the experience of other families so didn't feel comfortable asking a stranger. as all families were trying to stay out of the photos of others.
Although we got there 15 minutes after it opened with pre-booked tickets, it was incredibly busy and people were getting in other peoples way on accident. Most people tried to respect others taking photos and tried to stay out of the photos of others. Most also were content to wait their turn for a photo, skip a photo opportunity or come back to that spot later in the room.
That was, until a school holiday program came in. It created mayhem and made the remaining rooms impossible to enjoy. While the program had small ratios of adults to kids, the children would keep running into the photos of others or pushing in and demanding photos from adults trying to control other children. If ArtVo staff were available, I feel this would have been less of an issue.
If you go, I would advise:
a) calling ahead to check for staffing
b) go early to minimise how busy it quickly became and
c) don't go on school holidays if you can avoid it

Went yesterday, completely oversold, though they want you to book and pay online. When we arrived had to queue 45 minutes to get in, all the while they allowed walk ins. When we finally gained entrance, hopelessly crowded. Further finding this place within the shopping complex was difficult. An interesting concept, and an interesting activity for those that enjoy posing for selfies. Certainly does not rate as a top 10 activity anywhere or at any time for the ticket price. Was better entertained and spent less attending a show at the comedy festival. No toilet facilities onsite either

I was told when we were there in July that it would be closing in August for a complete revamp over a couple of months. Best to check if open before heading there!

Will a weekday early afternoon a better time to take photos in ArtVo than school holidays and weekends due to people traffic?

Well it depends on what type of person you are, a week day would be better for you if you prefer to take a calm series of photos without accedental photobombers but if you feel like your personality pops more around other People then I would advise going on a weekend. One note though the last scene at artvo is for a panda in a tree but many young children are tiered by the end and we found that we couldn't take a photo there because all the children were sitting on the fake bamboo

Sorry, I don't think there is. I've checked on-line and the only places I can find a Trick 3D Art Gallery are Melbourne in Australia, Den Pasar in Bali, Indonesia and Rotorua, New Zealand. You'll have to take a holiday!
