The harbour area is a great place to wander around either during the day or in the evening. The marina was full of boats of all sizes and shapes. The waterfront area comes to life in the evening when numerous restaurants are open. When we visited, Auckland was about to be hit by Cyclone Gabrielle so the weather was not very good. Still a good place to visit.

Had great time with lovely friend who has a place overlooking that harbour.. You can watch the yatch and so on passing.. Breathtaking view.. Easy access to nearby restaurants.. We eat in Chinese restaurant just few walks away..

Since the Harbour was only a couple of blocks from our hotel in the CBD we decided to walk down to it. Upon arrival, basically, everything was closed except for the ferry and tour terminal. It was the middle of the week but there really wasn't anything to do. We did have a nice walk though and enjoyed the sound of the harbour.

Auckland Viaduct Harbour is a facinating place to have a good wander about, Grat bars and restaurants. Sights to behold if you are interested in BIG boats. If the "COMO" is tied up have a look! Wow!! The museum is worth a visit and you must take a pic under the hull of the Americas cup yacht
GOOD GEORGE is a worthwhile stop for a cocktail of something more substantial. Just take in the scenery and watch the people. Don't get caught on the top of the harbour bridge when it is on the way up!!

Lots going on here and, if the weather is nice when you are in Auckland, this is a nice place to just stroll about. There are huge cruise ships that dock here, excellent restaurants along the way, good shops to visit (of all types), and fun people to watch.

The Viaduct Harbour area is only minutes from Auckland CBD.
It has over 30 bars and restaurants located waterfront in a busy and popular part of Auckland.
You will see evidence of the rich and famous with many superyachts as well as morte simple boats.
Its an area well woth visiting.

We walked the pedestrian bridge to the other side of the marina which has a number of restaurants. And right along the harbor on the downtown side are many dining choices from Italian to seafood and from fine dining to take out. Tons of beautiful yachts to admire as well.

Excellent for a walk around, at any time. It comes to life in the evening and has a great range of restaurants to chose from.
Don't forget to walk to the 'other end' of the harbour and have a look at the heritage boats, all of which have panels explaining their history.
