My daughter was unable to complete her PADI open water diver course while we were overseas as she developed an ear infection. We asked Dive Zone Tauranga on our return home if she could join one of their groups to complete the last 2 x open water dives as our instructor assured us that this would be easy to do. Everything just seemed too hard for Dive Zone Tauranga. Even though they admitted that they had spaces, they just didn’t seem to want to help out. Funny, apparently they have put people on the moon.
The crazy thing is that I have buckets of $$ with which I wanted to purchase new gear for myself and my family. Turns out I wont be spending it at their shop :-)

To not be driven about money and more about the people. Our whānau will never forget how you dealt with us over missing one appointment and charging us $300 if you looked closer at the situation you would of realised that i was sick and the boys that didn’t make the appointment were all under age. The staff were ok with it and we agreed to set another time, but the owner 👀🤑🤑🤑had other plans. Now we will find a better company that have more of a understanding about looking after the customer and not the pocket.👎👎👎👎👎👎👎

Diver Beware

Exercise caution dealing with this company. Their staff are not trained to determine what kind of equipment you have so that they can hire you the appropriate gear to match. If that ruins a days diving for you, then too bad for you. They are, however, trained in a tired analogy about rental cars to refuse you a refund.

Make sure you know exactly what you need before you go in there, or take your gear physically into the shop and make sure it works before you hire it because if it’s wrong it is entirely on you and they will no responsibility for it.

Buyer beware.

Very Unorganized

We are experienced divers on holiday in NZ. We were looking forward to a new experience under the water. Pre-dive was really good. The shop communicated with us via email and we were able to book online. James called us the day before to confirm and discuss the details. We were surprised that we weren’t due to return until 4-5pm for 2 dives. Day of the dive we got fitted for gear and rushed to what I think is the oldest boat in the harbor. No problem with old but it didn’t meet the needs of 19 divers. The trip was only 4 paying customers and the rest students. We felt that the students (learning to be instructors) were very unprofessional. Foul language and poor personal hygiene. We were told there was a shower on the boat but it was used as the storage room for fishing rods. The students wanted to dive for scallops so that seemed to be the main focus of the day. The students were instructed to throw back any scallops that were too small but most ate the small ones instead. They also brought an octopus on the boat. They put it back but that is a big NO in the diving world! The dive briefing and the boat briefing were minimal and the students couldn’t help with basic questions (such as where to get full tanks, how to secure empty ones, where to locate the soap, etc). We didn’t arrive back to the dive shop until after 6pm. Waaaaay too long. No lunch provided and was one of the most expensive dives I’ve done. Not a NZ highlight.

The Bay of Plenty is an amazing area to dive and DiveZone Tauranga are the perfect team to help you enjoy it. Great people, great service, great gear and plenty of trips to choose from. Highly recommended.

Best Service in Town

So i pretty much live to Dive and I did my Instructor Development Course, and my Instructors Exam through Dive Zone Tauranga. Several things Struck me in the the First minute.(considering I turned up when about 15 - 20 school kids turned up for their open water course) they're generous and helpful, the Depth of knowledge on Dive Gear and equipment, and the level of experience in procedures, coupled with Dive industry Knowledge both relevant to local diving and just good practice.(which separates amateurs from pro's). I got on well, and in the future will pop n from time to time for a chat, or a dive trip, and also to purchase equipment. Very Good Dive Shop indeed. Thanks Nikki,Kerry and Co.

Went on an excellent day trip with dive zone to the Alderman Islands. Friendly staff and great atmosphere. brilliant day made only better by spotting seals!

Dive Zone Tauranga is one of the best dive shops in the Bay of Plenty I have been involved in dealing with for diving and training. I have had an awesome time doing my diploma in Professional Scuba instruction with the friendly and down to earth staff. I always use them when I am in the area for all my diving needs.

Thank you for all your time Dania, Nicki, Rach, Kerry And all the part time staff.

Amazing experience and Training

Excellent training facilities for the tertiary courses, with the covered heated pool area on site. Fully equipped for all levels of training, recently had the experience of going to Northland and doing some amazing dives including diving the HMNZS Canterbury wreck and training as an enriched air diver. Great training staff and instructors making my time very enjoyable and fun, one of my most enjoyable years studying so far.
