Visited this lovely site pre covid as a couple but this time we took our 2 grandchildren who loved the statues. They are both aware of the books as we read to them. They both noticed that a tail was missing from one of the animals!? Still brings a smile to our faces.

We came to the Tauranga Waterfront specifically to see the Hairy Maclary and Friends sculpture and it didn't disappoint! The sculptures are so life like and bring the characters to life. Certainly worth a visit.

Right in the heart of downtown Tauranga, the waterfront area, including this statue, is a stunning area. Many bars and restaurants nearby and you can free camp in your SC van in the car park here too!

Our daughter loved the Hairy McLary stories. Even if you're not a New Zealander, and particularly if you have young kids, this sculpture on the Tauranga waterfront is well worth a visit.

Grandson loved climbing over , on and around the dogs. He is a bit too young to know the characters but he will certainly be introduced to them.

These bronze statues of the characters from Hairy Maclary are a great place to visit right by the water.
