On the one hand, it's bigger and with more interesting stuff than you'd expect from a regional museum. On the other hand, if you've been to Australian Museum, Melbourne Museum, or Dinosaur Museum in Canberra - it's pretty similar stuff but considerably less of it, and admittedly for a noticeably lower price. There's not much interactivity for kids, and overall displays (while being beautifully put together), are rather monotonous. If you think that going slowly through every display and admiring 100's of minerals and fossils is great fun (I do), then this is for you. If not, and you've been to one of the aforementioned museums, then it's probably not for you. A beautiful T-rex skeleton display is something which might attract some visitors though. I mean kids love that stuff, even when they've seen it a hundred times already, so why not.
Overall, I think it's worth the price, it didn't exceed expectations, but wasn't a disappointment either. Oh, and the shop is quite good with reasonable prices and fun stuff for kids interested in science.

This Museum has most excellent Dinosaurs, a full skeleton of a T-Rex, and many more smaller dinosaur parts and Permian fossils too. The whole fossilized Crab is world class. There is also an extensive Minerals collection. The Gift Shop has some great items too. There are video displays too. An hour or two can be easily spent here. Recommended.

Loved the colourful crystals and fossils. Small but worth the visit. It will take about 1 hour to go through.

So glad we came here, the kids were entertained with pet dinosaurs and toys while we were able to read about the exhibits for once! Gift store is reasonably priced (we spent more time there than in the actual museum)

Seeing so many fossils , gems and crystals it is an amazing place a must visit for every visitor people working at the museum were very helpful

Excellent collection of rocks.
