Had a fantastic morning picking some strawberries with my husband and one year old son, they're his favourite fruit. Very happy with our pickings plus a couple of extra items from the shop, including some jam and pasta sauce which is absolutely delicious. The cafe is lovely with delicious scones and coffee. My husband enjoyed his French toast. Prices are reasonable. Will visit again when in the area.

We have stopped here on many occasions because we really enjoy the tomatoes that are on offer, irrespective of the variety available. The tomatoes are rich in flavour and colour and certainly are superior to those you buy in supermarkets etc.
As well, jams, relishes, pickles and sauces are available, produced locally and from other sources.
Picking strawberries is one of the “things to do” if visiting Ricardo’s.
Along with honeys, nuts, chocolates and other souvenirs, there is cafe that caters for breakfasts, lunches and/or coffee/tea and scones.
This is a place of free entry and I can highly recommend it for the quality of its produce and the family-orientated atmosphere it creates.
As well, jams, relishes, pickles and sauces are available, produced locally and from other sources.

Disappointed.
Pros - being able to pick our own strawberries. Interesting to see how they farm them.
Cons - Price. Direct to farm you would expect a bit cheaper, as no middle man. Depending on quality of course and I’ve seen much better quality. The sign outside the shop said ““Best scones in the World” as quoted by the UK Daily Mail”. They must have worse scones in the UK than I remember. My scones this morning were warm but dry. The base edges were hard. They were bland in taste. Size wise for $11.00 for 2 scones they were small. The cream was watery air whipped cream. For good scones you need thick cream or well whipped so it doesn’t disintegrate into water. If you’re touting the best scones in the world you need to do ALOT better than that. I had better yesterday at a little Ag show in Macksville.
FYI - Many places advertise world best scones or best scone in ….. From our extensive experience this is never the case. We usually find the places with the better scones don’t advertise that way. One place had 3 day old scones frozen and defrosted and claimed “Worlds best Devonshire teas” after asking questions about the scones freshness we left without buying….. For the best scones, they should NEVER be refrigerated or frozen and they should be left at room temp and covered, with a tea towel or cloth is best.

Ricardoes is an absolute gem. Real tea made in a pot, with hot scones just out of the oven and their own strawberry jam - MAGIC. I hope they never succumb to the temptation of short preparation time over high quality by presenting a quick teabag tea.....
The service was very welcoming, helpful and friendly. Picking strawberries and tomatoes is just a bonus. This place is a must stop on any road trip!

Fabulous little cafe selling lovely cream teas, cakes, quiche type meals and good coffee.
Shop selling lots of pickles, relishes and other artisan wares was great and not overpriced. Worth a visit especially to buy their juicy tomatoes and strawberries.

This is a lovely place to visit and pick your own strawberries! Pay for what you pick. There is also a cafe there and lovely farm shop. I’d definitely recommend. The strawberries are undercover so a good thing to do for all the family even on a rainy day! Recommended!

Visited this venue in January for my birthday. We had a delicious scones jam and cream plus a lovely pot of English Breakfast Tea.
They have a huge variety to choose from from a simple cake and coffee to a nice light lunch menu.
There is a nice rustic atmosphere in the shed with a lovely array of fresh veggies on sale.
You can pick strawberries fresh from the vines if you like.
Lovely jams and preserves are also on sale.
Have tasted the strawberry jam and it was delicious.
Lovely morning lovely venue.
They have a huge variety to choose from from a simple cake and coffee to a nice light lunch menu.

Had such a great time, everyone in the family enjoyed picking strawberries! The scent of strawberries was divine. Since the strawberries are grown in sheds it can be a good activity even in wet weather. Suitable for just about all ages.
Plenty of produce to shop for as well. They have their own Ricardo's products but also stock a number of North Coast region brands.
We enjoyed our Devonshire Tea after all the hard work harvesting!
Totally recommend and would love to come back again next visit.

We picked strawberries in a bucket. Strawberries cost $20 a kilo. There’s a nice cafe and we also had scones and cappuccino. We were also able to purchase fresh tomatoes and several local made sauces and relish.

Ricardoes strawberry picking was great fun. They give you a bucket and a pair of scissors and off to the strawberries. The hydroponic set up means that there are strawberries at several levels suitable for all ages and heights. The constant temptation is to eat as many as you put in the bucket, but i resisted.
In the restaurant the food was good. I had the flathead tails and a strawberry smoothie, both of which i enjoyed. That said we did feel let down. Being a strawberry farm we expected strawberries to be on the menu - Strawberry crepes, strawberry fondue or even strawberries and cream but no, the menu was one that you could see in many cafes around town
The shop had a great variety of jams, sauces, toppings and even fudge
In summary a great experience and, Yes, the strawberries were fantastic.

Only just got this question. Sorry, the picking takes as long as you want it to. You are given a lined bucket and a pair of scissors to cut strawberries, so can take as many or as few as you like. There are always lots of informed staff to answer questions and show you things.
