Excellent staff, terrific food, commentary that was easy to hear and an interesting itinerary. A very worth while trip to do.

The cruise was very enjoyable and worth the money, but it was the fantastic crew that elevated our experience to a whole new level. Skipper Warren, engineer Jeff, chefs Greg & Lawrence, and Julie who was front of house were absolutely wonderful. The paddling on the water and the campfires on the river's banks were highlights for me. I would be happy to do this again.

A wonderful trip. Relaxing on the river with beautiful scenery and bird life with the sound of the paddles and the engine. Daily activities provided were enjoyable and dinner by the river and entertainment around the campfire provided memorable moments. Staff were ready to keep everyone well provided for with tasty food and drinks. Staff were more than helpful, friendly and informative. Accommodation was very comfortable. Climbing the stairs to our room was the most challenging part of the whole trip. Our cars were securely stored and we were bused when needed. Congratulations PS Emmylou. Loved it all

My sister and I had the most amazing three nights on the Emmylou. The staff were exceptional, each person made sure you were cared for, from Julie’s big smile as she welcomed you into the saloon each meal, Greg our chef and his amazing meals, will need to loose a few kilo’s from the trip now. Geoff’s love of steam engineers, we discovered he has his own steam engine at home, he really did know every detail, and was always happy to have a chat. Scott was the best captain, also doing an outstanding job teaching us about the Murray river and being a fantastic tour guide. Beth taking us upstream to teach us more about how to tell if the Murray river is healthy, she was a great story teller, and made us laugh. And finally Scott the bus driver, he like the others kept us informed, and cared for. The boat was in excellent condition, the Murray never lets you down, it was simply amazing, and should be on everyone’s bucket list. I think I can say for the 15 guests, THANK YOU Emmylou! We all left the Emmylou having had a great 3 nights away, learnt a lot, laughed a lot and enjoying this very special piece of Australia’s history. Would highly recommend to anyone thinking about it, these folks are true professionals.

The Emmylou experience is a class act from a fantastic company. Solo travellers note that if you join a cancellation list as I did, the single supplement is waived or reduced. It will save you heaps but you do need to have the flexibility to book with little notice; I had two weeks notice.
It is clear that a great deal of thought goes into everything they do and the staff, including the crew and the 'back end' staff, are superb. Nothing is too much trouble and they seem to have thought of everything from the time you book till when you step off at the end. Friendly and professional with all services delivered in that laid back yet competent manner that good Australian companies are rightly renowned for delivering. I have travelled extensively within Australia and overseas up to five star and the Murray River Paddle Steamer company are up there with the very best of them.
There are too many good things to single anything out so just read the details on their website; its all true and it all happens, depending on what the Might Murray does that is as it dictates where the Emmylou can go.
Do yourself a favour and get on board. You won't regret it.

The instructions you receive if you book online for this are woefully inadequate. We booked online for the one hour cruise and received an email with instructions to park at the visitor centre from where it would be "short walk" to the boat. In fact it is over half a kilometre. Further, once you park at the visitor centre there are no signs to the paddle steamer and if you follow the sign that says "moorings" you will find yourself (as we did) going in the wrong direction. A call to the booking office seeking help just went to voicemail leaving us to wander in confusion before going back to the visitor centre and asking there.
With all this messing about we missed the boat (literally 😊) despite having arrived more than the designated 15 minutes prior to departure.
We then sought a refund as the problem was caused by their email containing adequate written information .The pretty unpleasant manager didnt want to refund on the theory that it was our fault for not doing enough "research" (apparently their own material is not considered a suitable source for "research ").
My advice would be to avoid this company as the management seems to have no interest in customer service. Enjoy a walk next to the lovely river instead. If you still want to risk them probably safer to book in person and get cleat information rather than rely on anything the email to you.

Sorry to hear this and that your first post to TripAdvisor has to be a poor one.
We have not experienced this issue before with our guests however we accept your feedback and have now updated our online booking confirmation to read "13-minute walk" of 1.1km rather than a short walk if choosing to park at the information centre.

Staff very caring and very obliging. Julie, top hostess and couldn't do enough for you. Greg (Chef) fantastic menu. Captains Scott and Richard definitely knew their river navigation. Ross and Tony our bus drivers great and Geoff engineer great too!!!!!

Agree with all that has been said... and you can stick to casual which is good because it is good to pack light as there isn't a lot of room in the cabins.

Hi, Would people recommend the 1hour cruise or 2 hour cruise please? 4 adults and 2 x 13 year olds (Just looking at cruise,not meal/accommodation etc) Thank you

Any boat trip on the Murray (out of Echuca) will be enjoyed, and will be full of interesting sights. There are shorter trips, than the one we did, that do not cater for on board meals, whilst the Mary Anne vessel has an on board dinner/ cruise over a 3 or 4 hours. Noelene & Ray P.

Hello, my husband and I have booked a luncheon cruise for the September school holidays with our 2 daughters ages 14 & 9.. Just a little concerned that we couldn't get any information on the food served in the lunch... We have a very fussy 9 year old so was hoping they cater for kids in the usual basic way, eg. Chips or sandwich etc.. As the cost was quite steep we are really hoping that she at least has that option, regards Karen Connor
