Very nice visit well documented by an outstanding and passionate speaker. A big thank you to her. Possibility to sit very regularly for those who have some difficulty standing for 1 hour 30 minutes. The gardens are beautiful.

Beautiful abbey, inside is very well restored and when we went also had an exhibition with the history and uses of the abbey through time that was very interesting, the guy at the reception was very nice and helpful and if you have the time there are guided tours every hour, the gardens are lovely as well.

Chartreuse is the pearl of this beautiful region of Montreuillois. The restoration is already very well advanced and allows a very informative and complete visit of the site, history, architecture, liturgical life, without forgetting the simple and well arranged gardens. Several photography exhibitions open a window on the people who lived there, the Belgians who found refuge there, or the state of the buildings before restoration and which almost disappeared. The guided tour is essential, very dedicated and informative guide!

Don't hesitate to take the guided tour. The Chartreuse is full of history and its gardens are top notch. To do if you are in the area.

We visited the Chartreuse a few years ago but since then magnificent work has been carried out. The roofs have been redone and the facades cleaned.
The guided tour is fascinating! The guide briefly recounted the entire history of this place. We also understood the life of the Carthusians but also the whole history of this place after their departure (1905). Belgian hospital, sanatorium...
The gardens are also beautiful.

Bonsoir . nous sommes pas loin et j aurais vraiment apprécié de la visiter avant de rentrer. Le soucis es que je me suis blesser et que j ai beaucoup de mal a marcher . et les stations debout très pénibles pour moi. Nous repartons ce dimanche et je n'ai pas de solutions pour me faire ce grand plaisir.

Malheureusement ce site n'est pas équipé afin d'avoir des visites adaptés ...j en suis navrée pour vous....je vous souhaite un bon séjour malgré tout .

We visited today but couldnt get in as the staff member just kept telling us that the guided tour was at 3 o'clock. Although on the website there is an olption to just to gardens, or gardens and exposition the lady just kept insisting that the guided tour was at 3. We had driven a distance to get in so we're very disappointed that we couldn't do gardens and cafe etc.

I work at the Chartreuse and I am sorry to read this.
Unfortunately, all the staff doesn't speak English so it was probably a misunderstanding. We are very sorry.
If you come back, you can ask Patrick, Lucy or Lara and you can visit the monastery for free.
