I highly recommend this lovely art deco Cinema in Randwick. We had no trouble at all parking and obtained spacious comfortable seats to see a wonderful movie called ‘Air’. A fascinating film, providing an insight into the advertising might of Nike shoes, which promoted basketballer Michael Jordan.
We enjoyed a lovely meal in a cafe nearby, and there are plenty to choose from. Well worth it!

They dont accept cash here. Ridiculous that they don't. Staff seemed pissed off when i questioned why they didn't.

Cash not accepted at this cinema. Staff were polite and tried to be helpful. They could provide no real explanation. Apart from mentioning covid. Large stain noted on the screen canvas in Cinema 5. Very annoying and distracted from enjoyment of movie. Staff do a good job of cleaning after each showing. But screen clean needs attention.

I wanted to support a independent local cinema but unbeknownst to us if you sit in the back rows of Cinema 12 it's an ice box as all the air conditioning vents are back there, when we complained they acted like we were supposed to know that and move in the dark if it's possible...seems like it back to Hoyts for us

Interesting historic cinema building with character. Decent selection of movies (check what's on online), including a European movie festival at time I was visiting. Adult ticket $21. Few people attending c. 9 pm session. Relaxed atmosphere.

A clean theatre, well managed by staff. Carefully monitored by staff during pandemic times. Good bathrooms!

I am a regular at the historic Ritz, and have been for fifty years.
How many Art Deco cinemas are left? Not many. but you only need one.
At the moment, with the limited number of new films available for release, they are providing many quality films from the past under a wide range of films: I saw one from their Spacefest series today (a 2013 film) and possibly the best film ever from 1957!
Witches-themed movies have just commenced, James Bond and Alfred Hitchcock have just left, Fellini has been entertaining for most of the year.
But in addition, the new films are filtering through too. I saw The Trial of the Chicago Seven here before it came to Netflix and thoroughky enjoyed I Am Greta a few weeks ago. I'll be going to the Q and A with the cast of Ellie and Abbie (and Ellie's Dead Aunt) this week.
Have a quiet drink or a meal before your movie, out on the balcony is best in summer, (or duck over to The Four Frogs across the road). There is always something happening at the Ritz. Oh and it is MUCH cheaper than what you pay at the bigger chains too.

The Ritz is unquestionably the best cinema (complex) in Sydney. It maintains the original single auditorium with stalls and circle and many new, smaller screens. All have state of the art presentation but the original auditorium can project film stock including 70mm. We saw a preview of TENET and plan to come back to see it again at the Ritz in 70mm again. Social distancing practices in place made us feel safe to return to the cinema. Thank goodness for this!
