Highlight of our day.

This is well worth the effort. There are well maintained facilities and we just loved the scenic walk through the ruins and we'd definitely do it again.its a beautiful spot

This is a hidden gem for the Adelong area. Easy variety of walks with lots of places to rest mid-walk. Lots of work has been done by local volunteer groups to make this as safe as possible to walk down the paths and steps. The ruins are so interesting. The photos and information boards add additional interest and explain the history. The viewing platform is a wonderful addition. There are also picnic tables - a great place to take a snack or a coffee. An extra bonus for us was to visit after lots of rain. This meant the river was high and looked amazing. If you are in this area, make sure you add this to your "must do" list.

Gorgeous spot
We did the hour walk in 45 minutes, took some lovely pictures and thorough enjoyed it
Highly recommend if visiting Tumut/Adelong area, don’t miss it

Interesting Area,

This was a really interesting and picturesque area. We walked from Adelong, a fairly easy walk on the up side. We visited all the ruins and found the information boards interesting as it provided plenty of information about the mines history and functions.
The area is relatively easily accessible, some steps but not challenging.
The falls were pleasant, plenty of water coming over.
The local community should be praised for the work they have put in to provide accessible viewing platforms and BBQ and table areas.

A must do on a warm day!

We came to Adelong falls and swam in the pools on a warm early autumn day and it was spectacular. The viewing platform is easily accessible and provides a great view + great information. The walking track around the falls is also pretty easily accessible however does have some stairs and steep sections so a some level of fitness/mobility is required. I would rate it a 3/5 for difficultly. The pools in the falls are quite accessible too, however the smooth rocks are slippery when wet. The journey down to the pools is well worth it though! A fantastic experience not to be missed!

The falls were pretty disappointing. On the walk there we could hardly see the river though the scenery was better on the walk back. The falls were not a waterfall as I expected but just the rushes that were made to enhance movement to the mills.

Creek scenery

The lovely Adelong Creek and the remnants of the gold mines of yesteryear always make me nostalgic. My Mum lived in Adelong as a girl and I have visited the Adelong Falls many times. Each time it is different, depending on the level of the creek, but it is always beautiful.

Great walk

Loved exploring this area. The ruins are fascinating and the whole area is peaceful. The walk is quite steep in places and requires 2 river crossings so needs basic fitness to complete.

Historic corner of Australian Gold mining history

lovely tranquil spot - we didnt allow enough time, to read all the signs and take in the history. We noticed too as we left that there are guided tours, but were not aware of this prior to going. The local knowledge and insights would have been good to have, but the site is just as lovely for the walk as it is for the history.
