What an exceptionally spectacular part of the world. The coastal walk is a must do. A well-planned track for the most part- great signage - numerous defibrillators throughout in case of an emergency. Views to impress for days - we saw a pod of dolphins and a turtle. The walk along Alexandra bay was a nice surprise and further on into the bush to and back out again onto Sunshine beach was equally lovely. We took advantage of the free shuttle back from Sunshine beach life saving and stopped to enjoy a beer and view and appreciate the beauty of where we were before heading back to Noosa.

The Noosa Coastal Walk which stretches from Noosa to Sunshine Beach is 5.4km n length. However, many hikers/walkers go to the halfway mark which is Hell’s Gate,
The track to Hell’s Gate can be easily walked by a moderately fit person as the track is generally flat with only slight rises. The first kilometre is a concrete path, the rest comprising of a natural rock base.
This moderately easy walk (to Hell’s Gate) and return probably takes an hour and a half, depending on the pace at which you need to go.
Take enough time to ensure you enjoy the views available along the way.
The biggest problem we have found in trying to hike this track is parking.

Incredible place. Natural paradise. You can’t miss out if you are in the sunny coast. There are trails all over the national park,I recommend walking through all the park till sunrise beach and the caves. Fairy pools are an amazing place in early morning when there are nit too many people around for a peaceful swim in clear water. It is also a cool diving spot. The scenery is unbelievable. It is often very crowded so I recommend going there in the surly morning so that you’ll enjoy the most of it. Also if you are into surfing there are some cool waves breaks!!

Even with young children, it’s a easy stroll along the coastal walk to Tee Tree Beach, with beautiful views along the way. You can walk as far (or not) as you want to, lots of maps available and easy to find your way, tracks are clearly marked.

We walked all the way to Hell's Gates since it had just opened. The views along the route were spectacular. However, Hell's Gates was disappointing. Very windy, nice new pathway but we saw bigger breakers on other parts of the path. Maybe it's about high expectations. It was a hard walk for my 74 year old friend and we found the view underwhelming.
We did see several Osprey hovering in the air so that was nice. It was good exercise for me but next time I would do a shorter route.

A piece of paradise.
There is a long walk way from Noosa main beach to inside the national park.
The scenery is Breath taking and it's a peaceful and leafy relaxing area to visit and go for a swim.
It's initially uphill from the beach but then at the national park its a fairly easy walk.

Great walk among the brush, with wildlife, dolphins, lizards and a few less clothed couples. Walk can be anywhere from 20 minutes to 4 hours. You can stop a various spots for a swim. Make sure you take your bathers and some water.

Did the coastal walk or at least half of it till we got to where they’ve blocked off the walk to Hells Gate. We’d probably walked close to 4km by this stage. We’d got there early. Not too hot which is a suggestion. Bring water, hat, costume & comfy walking shoes.
Loads of people by the time we got back at lunchtime. Lots of great places to swim, photo ops & scenery.
Caught spying an osprey with a big fish in a tree very close to the path. Lovely indigenous cafe just for coffee at the entrance.

YOU can walk from Noosa, all the way to the National Park, but this first part is on a Boardwalk and is not completely smooth, has steepish parts to it. It can be used by walkers or wheelchairs and prams. From the start of the National Park, there is a sealed Path for more than 1 km around the shoreline. That path has been created for wheelchair access, so has NO STEPS

Hi Naty, there is no entrance fee for the national park. Noosa Caravan Park is 143 Moorindil St, Tewantin QLD 4565, Australia - that is 10 km away from the entrance of the park. Have a save trip, Michael

Hi we have a three month old and are up for a walk in a baby carrier. How hard is the walk all the way to Hell's gate? Also how hard it it to get parking and is there any cafe nearby?

The walk is fairly easy all the way to Hell's Gate but unfortunately, parking was a nightmare when we visited which was the week before school holidays started. You need to get in really early to get a park! There is a cafe at the beginning of the walk as well as toilets. I'm not sure how good the cafe is as we only bought ice-creams after we completed the walk (with a 3 and 5 year old).

Is there a time limit for parking in the car park at noosa national park? Is the track kid friendly to the fairy pools? Or another place (ie. sunshine beach) to park at that is closer walking distance to the fairy pools?

No Time limit, but limited space.
You have to get there early or you need to walk all the way from Noosa.

National Parks are open 24 / 7 there were no gates at the entrance - it is free to go in and you can visit anytime - parking is at a premium so very early am and late pm and when there is no surf (popular surfing spots at the entrance and at one of the beaches) might be better

In which part of Noosa National Park would we be most likely to see koalas? We will probably not have a car and would be arriving by bus/foot and would like to know which entry point and/or trail would give us the best opportunities for koala spotting.

"The trees" is the obvious answer, but they are hard things to spot.
If its specifically Koalas and you are in Brisbane as part of your trip, look into Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary. Really exceptional for the little guys, and if you don't have a car you can get there by boat from town which is a cool thing on its own.

Unsure where North Shore van park is but you need to drive to Noosa Heads, then turn right onto Hastings St, the street just behind Noosa beach. Follow this road south along the coast about a Km or 2, until you reach a large carpark at the end of the road. You are now at the National Park.
