De beaux restes de vestiges, ballade très agréable, musée intéressant. A faire si on est de passage à roses.
Entrée 4 e. , ballade environ 1 h. Lieu très bien entretenu.

Beaux vestiges à ne pas rater lors d'un séjour à Roses. Le musée est très intéressant et les explications bien pensées en différentes langues. Prix raisonnable du billet : 4 euros. Un lieu incontournable. A visiter !

Really interesting ruins which give the visitor a much better understanding of the history of Roses Bay and it's historical importance. Guided tours in different languages are available but we preferred just to wander around.

Hemos hecho la visita guiada en domingo. Solo éramos 4 y ha resultado muy ameno, divertido y exclusivo, puesto que eso nos ha permitido participar muchísimo. Roser, la guía, un encanto de mujer! Mantiene tu atención en la explicación. Aproximadamente 1h de duración que se hace corta. La entrada da acceso a la exposición y al museo, que está bien porque complementa lo visitado.

We dachten snel even rond te gaan daar. Maar niets was minder waar.
Je kan er zeker twee uurtjes vertoeven. Je vindt er overblijfselen van onder andere de Griekse en Romeinse nederzettingen.
Je krijgt een plannetje mee, je kan het tevens inscannen met een QR-code en je hebt zelfs de keuze voor een Nederlandse tekst. Je wandelt tussen, langs en door verschillende delen ven gebouwen en ruïnes. Gewoon weg de paadjes en bordjes volgen. Je waant je precies even terug in de tijd.
Het domein is zeer proper en goed onderhouden. Het museum zelf hebben we niet kunnen doen daar ons hondje mee was. Daar maakten ze totaal geen probleem van.
We voelden ons met ons drietjes zeker niet buiten gekeken.

Sehr eindrücklich und interessant,unglaublich wie alles gepflegt und restauriert wird,man fühlt sich fast auf einer Zeitreise um Jahrtausende zurückversetzt auch das Museum innen,fantastisch und der Preis von 4 Euro unglaublich für die ganze
Anlage und der Aufwand,sehr empfehlenswert sich das einmal anzuschauen,auch für Leute,welche sich nicht für Geschichte interessieren.

As over 65s entrance only cost us €2,50 each. €5.00 for under 65.
The very helpful lady at the desk spoke vey good English. She also provided English language laminated fact sheets to carry & return at the end of our visit.
It's a large site. I would estimate around 45 hectares.
Loads of things from pre history to the Spanish Civil War. We spent over two & a half hours looking round. Could well have been longer.
I also managed to take half a dozen photos of a hoopoe. A bird I had not seen before.
There were even for us the not so young enough seating. Many in shade under trees.
Small selection of gifts to purchase plus nice toilets.

If you are on holiday in Roses, visiting the Citadel will be worth every penny. From the outside you get the impression that it's a huge walled area. But what's inside is a feast of history from remnants of the Medieval ages, to when the Romans were living in this Mediterranean port, with even a Monastery built by Benedictine Monks in 960 and the remains of barracks used by soldiers.

How much does it cost to enter the ciutadella? And can you enter without a guide?

I can't remember the exact cost to enter but it wasn't expensive (we went in as a group so had a discount). You don't have to have a guide, they give you a map to wander on your own, be aware there is not much shade on a hot day

En estos tiempos de pandemia no podemos facilitar las guias impresas por seguridad.
Se ofrecen numerosas visitas guiadas en diferentes idiomas cada dia por tan solo un euro mas que la entrada. También tenemos el sistema de QR para descargar-se la guia.
Sentimos que no tuvieran el móbil para descargarse el QR, però el museo ofrece una buena colección de objetos al igual que el yacimiento.

Delante de las murallas, en la fachada marítima es difícil. Pero por la parte posterior, hay dos grandes esplanadas gratuitas que caminarás 200m. En ese trayecto hay varios bares y restaurantes con menus

Acabo de llamar a la oficina de Turismo.
Al recinto se puede acceder con perro ( es al aire libre) . Aconsejo zapato cómodo y plano.
La única restricción es en la zona del Museo.
