St Mary's has dominant position in town and is impressive. The original church was built in1857 and rebuilt between 1873 and 1876. The spire was added in1911.

A very neat, tidy and clean church to pop in for a visit. Gorgeous windows and decorations. Centrally located in Mudgee.

This magnificent church is on the main street in the middle of Mudgee and is open to visitors to come inside and enjoy the beauty of the building and of the stained glass windows. They are some of the most magnificent we have seen in our travels and worth visiting for.

We had walked past the church at least 5 times and remarked how beautiful the church was.
So we decided finally we entered the church. What a wonderful feeling and great walk to stroll through with peace in a beautiful way.

St Mary's doors are open for visitors and it is worth venturing inside. The building is about 150 years old and is well loved by the parishioners who look after it and the grounds around beautifully. Once a month there is a Farmer's Market on Saturday morning in the grounds.

Nobody told us that Mudgee is a town of churches!! We happened upon St Mary of the Presentation Catholic Church and it was absolutely beautiful inside and out. Very majestic and commanding sandstone building in the heart of Mudgee. This is only one of the amazing churches scattered around the Mudgee area.

Worth a look at the interior with high ceilings that left us awestruck. Great credit to the builders of the time and designers. Very humbling

This church was largely built between 1873 and 1876 but incorporated parts of early church buildings already on the site. The steeple was added in 1911. The structure is a main nave with a very high vaulted wooden ceiling with two small aisles on either side separated from the nave by a series of gothic type arches and stone columns.
The interior contains some beautiful stained glass windows, ornate paintings of the stations of the cross and a marble and timber altar.
Well worth a look.

Apparently, the spire is the 3rd largest in NSW or some quirky, little, brag like that (does bronze count Australia? LOL). Anyhoo, lovely Church with Italian frescos to admire. Take a quiet 10 minutes and contemplate. Farmers markets on site on Saturday are interesting but watch out for the cranky olive promoter. He will smack your hand if you try to help yourself!
