Now, I haven’t been back in this establishment for food for a long time after we found the food was a bit hit and miss last year.
Heard good things that the food had improved so booked in for Sunday lunch with my family.
Buy 1 get 1 free after 5pm. 😀💪🏻
Lovely polite staff. Clean tables. Food arrived in good time, got and plenty of it. ( only gripe from on of our party is that the roast comes in a pile with gravy already added)
Dessert was also nice.
We will visit again.

A group of about 15 of us went for Christmas lunch today I - had three courses, goats cheese tartlet, roast turkey and cheese and biscuits / there is nothing that we can fault. Not one person made a complaint about anything - I’ve heard bad things in the past but I honestly enjoyed it and would definitely be back - it shows how good it was when not one person at the table complained - thanks Royal Oak - keep it up

The service was fabulous and accommodated all of our needs. The roast dinners were beautiful and all the added extras on top made it too notch! The outside area is great for the kids to have a run around in and it feels like a good, old fashioned, family friendly pub.

Probably a nice pub just to drink in the evening outside but sadly the food today was dreadful. After waiting over 45 minutes for prawn sandwiches, having been told no tuna, we were presented with brown bread with dry prawns and frozen advocado. Totally inedible. Prawns must be frozen because they were tasteless and full of water. We sent them back got a refund and went to Simmons in the high street! Sorry we won’t be back.

Awful experience - 5 of us ordered food and drink via the scanning app. Our drinks arrived but our food did not. After 30 minutes I asked where our food was, they took 10 minutes to tell us that our order had never gone through to the kitchen. I asked how long it would be as we were rushing off to Harry Potter world. I also said that I expected some kind of compensation for this - they offered a free round of drinks but I said this wasn’t good enough. The woman again didn’t let me know so I walked in to find out the answer but actually found her bad mouthing me to other other customers. I called her out on this and told her it was extremely unprofessional and that I wanted my money back. She was again unprofessional and stormed off into the kitchen and got someone else to deal with me. When they went to give me my money back they didn’t process the tip that we had done via the app, which I had to say that we were not paying due to our poor service. We will NOT be coming back and advise people to order from a person or check that their food order had gone through the QR code!

A quick look at its hygiene rating on the official Government website says it all. It’s is the lowest you can get. From toilets to food this pub has got to buck its ideas up with cleanliness. It’s neighbours all scored top marks 5/5. Their score on the government’s website is 1/5. Shame as it has such potential.

I went here with my sister & friends for a bite to eat & drinks. We had a great time the food was lovely, the service was great and the seating patio area was lovely. The staff were friendly & polite. we’ll definitely go back.

Visited the Royal Oak this eve, my first time ‘ out out ‘. Since lockdown .Was disappointed ,The website says you can order via scan on the menu ,this was not available . Also a paper menu which clearly cannot be wiped between each booking . The staff had no face covering ,or gloves . I was not impressed at all , we didnt feel very safe. To be honest I was tempted not to stay ,and won’t be returning untill this Covid is over .
