Henry’s Bell tower, or Jindřišská Tower to give its proper name, is situated a short walk from Wenceslas Square towards Senovazne Namesti and was previously the city tower and belfry at the church of St Henry from 1472-1476. At 65.7meters it is the tallest free standing belfry in Prague today. It has experienced several fires over the years and after a fire in 1745 it underwent baroque modifications and in 1880 a gothic renovation was undertaken by architect Josef Mocker. Last century it was largely abandoned and became quite shabby until it was hugely reconstructed in the 1990’s and new self-supporting reinforced concrete structure was inserted inside. Today it has ten floors and is home to several businesses including a couple of restaurants and shops, a museum and an art gallery and at the highest level there is a viewing gallery and a newly installed set of ten cast bronze bells in the tower attic, designed for listening in the interior of the tower.
It opens between 10AM and 7PM most days and there is a 190Kc charge to go up to the viewing gallery.

Prague lived up to all it is cracked up to be. Amazing old buildings, the beautiful Vitava river, the incredible castle and the delightful food.
Walking across the Charles Bridge was amazing. The evocative statues and squares and the colours of early Spring made it an unforgettable experience.

The tallest free standing tower in Prague is Henry's Bell Tower ,constructed in the 16th century and renovated in 1879 in the Neo Gothic style of architecture, its the bell tower of the wonderful Church Of St Henry And St Kunhata ( Kostel Svateho Jindricha A Svate Kunhuty ) and is a wonderful looking tower ,its home to a great whisky bar and if you go the whisky bar you can tour the tower,well worth checking out if you're in the New Town.

the stairs from the ninth floor to the attic are already beautiful. Beautiful attic with views to all directions over Prague.
First take the elevator up (phew - nice) and then back down floor by floor. With various gallery-like exhibitions and especially fun: a floor with information about ALL towers in Prague. The restaurant and whiskey bar were not interesting to us.

One of the iconic structures of the New Town is Henry's Bell Tower ,the tallest free standing tower in Prague and was once part of the beautiful Church Of St Henry And St Kunhata ( Kostel Svateho Jindricha A Svate Kunhaty ) adjacent to the tower .
The tower was constructed in the 16th century ,renovated in 1879 ,this renovation gave the tower the Neo Gothic look we see today ,a small fee and you can ascend the tower which is fascinating and there's also a great whisky bar in the tower called Whisteria Bar set over two floors were if you're a fan of a dram is a must go destination ,I love this bar and the whiskies on offer ,a wonderful tower to check out ,easy to locate on Jindrisska ,trams 2.9.14.24 drop you off at the tower ,well worth seeking out if you're in the New Town .

di aspetto simile alle altre torri di praga, ma molto diversa all'interno. ogni piano è visitabile, c'è un pub, ristorante, bar e servizi igienici. provvista di ascensore che porta in cima da dove si ammira un panorama stupendo, la torre è alta più di 60 m. fuori dagli itinerari classici ma meritevole di visita.

No trip to Prague would be complete without a visit to Henry's Bell Tower.
This is the tallest free standing tower in Prague ,standing 67.7 metre's high,it was once part of Kostel Svateho Jindricha A Svate Kunhaty ( Church Of St Henry And St Kunhata ) ,the tower was constructed from quarried stone in the 16th century and renovated in 1879 ,this renovation gave the tower a Neo Gothic look ,nowadays the tower is a tourist attraction,10 floors high ,floors 7 to 9 is a restaurant ,a whiskey bar takes up two floors ,all other floors are exhibition rooms ,it's just a great place to visit,as a fan of whiskey I had to go to sample a wee dram which was delicious ,it's a tower I highly recommend you check out if you're in the area,trams 2.9.14.24 drop you off at the tower along Jindrisska.

Centuries old Tower with an elevator and air conditioning. After many years not being open to public, major renovations began in the nineties.
There is a concrete and steel structure inside the tower. A tower within tower.
Whiskey bar is located at the bottom floor. Restaurant Zvonice is on the 7th floor.
The large bell Marie can be seen in the restaurant hanging over the tables. One floor up above the restaurant is another windowed space to take in the views.
An excellent opportunity to get to the top of one of the towers in Prague on an elevator.

Strana questa torre, che a differenza di tante altre ha organizzato gli interni in termini prettamente commerciali. Nonostante gli spazi ristretti che un edificio di questo genere inevitabilmente ha, qui i vari piani sono allestiti e ospitano un negozio, un ristorante, e degli spazi espositivi. Al quarto piano c’è poi un museo sui tanti campanili della città. Nonostante ciò, per raggiungere la terrazza panoramica al decimo piano – che è il principale motivo per cui un turista viene qua – si deve comunque pagare un ticket. La torre è in realtà un campanile, risale al 1500, le campane sono visibili all’interno e suonano (con volume molto alto) in breve ogni 15 minuti e in forma più estesa ogni quattro ore.
La torre, tardo gotica, è alta 65,7 metri. Caratteristico è il carillon, composto da una serie di dieci campane di bronzo fuso situato nel sottotetto della torre progettato per l'ascolto dall’interno. Basta mettere una monetina nell’apposita gettoniera e le campane suoneranno appositamente per voi. Simpatico ed emozionante. Molto bello il panorama dalla terrazza. In conclusione, merita.
