Poster Love

As a collector of vintage posters myself, I had to take a look when I saw this place. It is an excellent little place. What is unique is that this collection isn't just a collection. They actually tell a story in Pragues very interesting history through the various advertisements that most people probably never realized would be in museum. Highly recommended, it won't take too long to get through but it is very worth it.

Extensive poster collection that gives an insight into a nation's development

This fascinating, new museum offers a huge collection of intriguing advertising posters displayed in a beautifully restored building. Well curated into themes, it is a must for anyone interested in advertising, graphic design, illustration, typography and hand lettering. The visitor is left with an intriguing insight into a recent past that was so very different in many ways to today. Coupled with a good shop where many miniature versions of the posters are available and a cafe providing some excellent coffees and teas, the Czech Poster Museum provides a refreshing break from the architectural grandeur that surrounds it and puts the visitor back in touch with real lives. Go!

A beautiful surprise

Very beautiful and ispiring, 3 floors full of posters from different years. The works belong to various Czech artists and travel through different historical periods. The exhibition is well organized and the lightining too. Hardly reccomended!

If you like art or posters- or are at all interested in getting a taste of communist-era advertising- this is a place you shouldn't miss. The posters are beautiful and they tell so many stories. The building is a work of art in itself. It's a pleasant and beautiful space- right in the center of the tourist district- to spend some time. Highly recommend!!

Wonderful Museum in Central Prague

This museum has a great collection of vintage posters from Czechoslovakia. I really love the artwork, and the displays are very well done. Located near Charles Bridge, this museum definitely deserves a visit!

Wonderful collection of retro posters, do not miss this!

Calling all graphic designers, artists and anyone who loves advertising art: This collection of retro posters is very well conceived and housed in a beautifully-renovated 14th or 15th century building. Spanning decades beginning in the late 1800s and reaching almost to 1990, there are some really wonderful specimens here. Grouped by product type on three levels, this is well organized and displayed, but wait — look up! The centuries-old ceilings are worth the price of admission alone. Nice gift shop with smaller reproduction posters to decorate your walls at home. Refreshments available: coffee, tea, wine, etc. Very welcoming and friendly staff.

Na neočekávaném místě v srdci Malé Strany si můžete prohlédnout pečlivě vybranou sbírku plakátů z doby minulé. Tři patra muzea jsou citlivě zrekonstruována včetně stropů z 15. století a stojí za prohlídku samy o sobě!
Sbírka plakátů je originální, zábavná i poučná. Muzeum Plakátů působí jako oáza v poušti prodejen křištálu, matrjošek a dalších kvazitrustických parafernálií.
