I recently visited Kranjska Gora for the second time, twenty years after the first one. Thus I was able to directly verify the rapid development of the town, which has surrounded the small historic center with new buildings. The heart of this old town, almost a guarantor of its significance, is the church of the Assumption of Mary, with its Romanesque bell tower and the remaining parts of the church in the late Gothic style: a remarkable church for a village which, even before the developments of the 19th and 20th centuries , had a certain importance in the upper Sava Dolinka valley. Of particular note are the beautiful vaults of the naves with intertwined ribs, and the sculpted and gilded altars.

Pleasant church in the centre of Kranjska Gora. You can walk through the compact centre in five minutes.

Situated in the middle of the town this is clearly a well used and well loved church.
It looks really well cared for both on the outside and inside. The frescos, painting and statues are lovely. It is not the biggest or best church we have seen but it was a nice church and we enjoyed it.

Nice little church in the middle of town, simply furnished and a bit dark. Very quiet place. Suitable for meditation.

Great church with some beautiful frescas and paintings. The church is opened every day during holy mass, which is usually in the evening and during the weekend in the morning.
Maybe worth of trying to get the local priests that could tell something more about the history of the church.

Bellissima chiesa antica sia all'interno che all'esterno. Il crocifisso all'interno è da ammirare. Solitamente al di fuori della chiesa troverete delle bancarelle con prodotti tipici.

La chiesa si trova in centro paese.
All’interno il soffitto è con decorazioni color oro su sfondo bianco.
Ci sono parecchie statue di santi e la Madonna di Lourdes all’entrata.
Sopra l’altare l’Assunzione di Maria Santissima e sopra la Santa Trinità.
I banchi sono ravvicinati come in parecchie chiese di montagna. Merita una visita.

Bella la chiesa della cittadina! Interno molto decorato in bianco ed oro; presenti molte statue di santi e volta e pulpito molto decorati. Tenuta benissimo e sempre aperta.

This baroque church is small in size but it is charming, clean and well maintained all around. Inside church, the altar is small, simple but holy. Bench are lined up neatly to occupy maybe around 150-200 people. The location of the church is in the village square. It is very comfortable to sit on the bench outside the church while enjoying the charm of Kranjska Gora small and compact old town.
