Fun wine tasting experience with Gabor! Visited the cellar by myself but made some new friends whilst I was there thanks to Gabor’s thoughtfulness of sitting me with others :) wine was lovely and I learnt lots from Gabor. Chocolates that are paired with the wine are a must! Beautiful setting. Would definitely recommend a visit.

A Great Taste of Hungarian Wines!

This was one of the best wine tasting events we’ve been to! The setting is very intimate and Gabor gave each table personal attention in explaining the wines. There were only 7 people at the tasting so we were able to get to know everyone a little bit. We chose the 9 wine flight with the chocolates. The mini scones also served were delicious and a nice complement to the wines and chocolates. Each wine was very interesting and learning a bit about the region they came from was interesting. Gabor only serves small production wines so that made it more special. Would definitely do it again!

In a wonderful, intimate location with the sweetest host, we did the tasting of six wines paired with chocolate. It was a really great way to spend a rainy afternoon and we would wholeheartedly recommend.

Wine fans will love it

A unique experience. If you like wine you must visit. My partner had been there about 10 years ago not long after they opened and I visited and it’s the same guy with an amazing approach. He was very welcoming with great knowledge if you want to delve into the wine more. Message for owner 1 I look forward to brining my partner Lucy from New Zealand next time :)

A must do while in Budapest Fantastic

What a fantastic way to spend a few hours in an afternoon, we opted for the premium wine selection of 7 different wines which ranged in age up to 50 years old and was not disappointed the wines were all fab and the talk and description given by the host was interesting and very informative ! The location is truly brilliant in a very old wine cellar, the atmosphere in the cellar is lovely and the host is friendly and made us feel welcome and we both had such a great experience and really looking forward to doing this again we def be back and we saw this as a must do while on a trip to Budapest and will be recommending friends and family :)

Lovely way to spend the afternoon

Lovely afternoon tasting wines with a very knowledgable and entertaining host. It was a lovely atmosphere in the caves under the hotel, the wine was good, the homemade chocolates and scones made it extra special. We will be back again

Wine tasting only, no option to stay for a drink

We found the cellar on trip advisor, no suggestion that you can only go there on a wine tasting session. We arrived to have a look round and were told we could book for the next day. This would have been perfectly acceptable only I was then scolded like a child for taking a picture of the entrance and told to delete said picture for ‘privacy of guests’. Not one person was in the picture and the host stood over while I proved I had deleted it.
We won’t be booking for tomorrow for that reason. The cellar is in a wonderful hidden location, the wine selection looked fantastic and the aroma of the food being served was mouth watering so it is a real shame.

I’m a wine collector and have gone to multiple wine regions, tastings and wineries. While in Budapest I search for places to discover some local wines and found this place with great reviews.

So we came without previous reservation, around 2pm. Finding the actual cellar is challenging, you have to go through several stairs and salons until you get down into the lower part inside the Hilton Hotel.

Gabor was our sommelier, I like very much his fun attitude as well as his passion and knowledge about wine, he is a real asset for the place.

The wines were fairly good, one in particular was the favor of all of us, and I think the price of €22 per person is reasonable for the experience.

We like it so much that we’re coming back 2 days later but we had to cancel. Anyways we’ll be back in the near future…

Fantastisk vinprovning i mysig vinkällare

Var här tillsammans med vänner. En fantastisk upplevelse med gott vin i vänners sällskap. Vinprovningen kostade 22 euro per person. Man kan köpa till med choklad. I detta ingår 6 viner, 2 vita, 3 röda och ett dessert. Till det fick vi även bröd och ett gratis glas efter det vin dom man tyckte var godast. Otroligt mysig och charmig vinkällare på Hiltons i Budapest. Trevlig vinkännare som berättade mycket om vinerna och var de kom ifrån. Ett måste om du besöker budapest
