Nadal wysoko oceniam przygotowanie tras i nowe wyciągi. Jednak wpychanie na te same stoki coraz większej liczby narciarzy już nie. Po pierwsze powoduje to olbrzymie problemy z dotarciem i wyjazdem ze stacji. Po drugie w przypadku wietrznego dnia (a to na Chopoku nie jest wyjątkiem) na stoku gdzie jeszcze działa jakiś wyciąg są tysiące ludzi, więc nie ma mowy o jeździe , jest tylko stanie w kolejkach do wyciągu.

Stacja niby się rozwija - głównie noclegowo, w tym roku pojawiła się też nowa gondolka. Przygotowanie tras też dobre. Ale tras ile było tyle jest, ludzi na stokach coraz więcej. Zmienne ceny skipassów miały niby zapobiec tłumom na trasach, ale to ma tylko taki efekt, że ceny są windowane do poziomów powyżej stacji alpejskich. Komunikacyjnie też coraz gorzej, parkingi przy wyciągach (od ubiegłego sezonu płatne) zapełniają się około 8:30-9:00, od tego momentu można dojechać tylko autobusem z parkingu głównego w Demanovej, ale tych autobusów jest przynajmniej 3x za mało, pomiędzy 9:00 a 11:00 raczej nie wychodź na przystanek w środku doliny, autobusy są tak przepełnione , że po prostu się nie zatrzymują - tak źle jak w tym roku jeszcze nie było. W zeszłym roku jeździł jeszcze mały bus elektryczny, tylko wewnątrz doliny. O wyjeździe z doliny autobusem w okolicy końca pracy wyciągów (-30min, +60min) napiszę tylko, że nie niektórym się udaje. Generalnie jakość usług się pogarsza, ale płacić za nie musisz coraz więcej.

The bottom line is that this is a place you should go if you like wasting time and money. I'll get into that, but let's start with the positives. Jasná is huge. There are something like 36 trails. There is a variety of terrain ranging from easy beginner (stay down by the new gondola, A6) to low-level expert stuff, mostly served by modern, high-speed lifts. The prices are slightly higher than one would expect, but significantly cheaper than skiing in the U.S. or some places in Western Europe. There are rental shops at all the main base areas.
For us, that's about where it ends. We skied three days there during mid-February 2023, and it was mainly one disaster after another that resulted in a lot of wasted money, but worse, a lot of wasted time.
First, the parking situation: it's paid unless you want to park 12 kilometers away and ride a crowded shuttle (see other posts on TripAdvisor about how horrible that is). We decided against that since our group included some kids under 12 and paid the €10.00 per day to park. To add insult to injury, there are only two machines to validate and pay for your parking, so we stood in line for 40 minutes on our first day to pay for parking. I don't get that time back. The other two days were about 15 minutes, but that was largely because the weather was so bad that there were fewer people skiing.
Second, the cost of tickets is a little more than it should be. The ski area is huge, so the full-price of €69.00 for an adult day pass is not horrible, but considering the lines one has to stand in (we averaged over 20 minutes per line on our first day and between 10 and 15 our other two days, thanks to weather keeping the crowds down a little), it's not worth it. One can reduce the price of a ticket a little by buying multi-day passes (can only be used consecutively, which is a huge negative) or by buying a GoPass online beforehand. We tried to do that, but the online system wasn't working, so we couldn't get the GoPass discount. That's money I don't get back because their system didn't work, not because of something I was doing wrong. It was very frustrating. Further note about that: with a GoPass purchased online, you can get a €3.00 discount on parking. Again, frustrating to lose that money because of them.
Another story about GoPasses before I move on. Up front, I will admit that, ultimately, this is my fault, but the lack of understanding and lack of help from the resort personnel was very frustrating. As a family of 8 (we were also there with friends, so the group was large, the ski resort was making plenty of money), we bought three 3-day passes, one adult (for me), one junior, and one children’s. What we hoped to do was use the junior pass for my son on days one and three, and my daughter on day two. (Remember, as stated above, it's not possible to buy a two-day pass where a skier can choose which two days to use it. So many other resorts in Europe let you do this. Jasná is simply behind the times.) This plan fell apart on day two when the turnstiles wouldn't let me daughter through. We learned that the turnstiles engage in a simple form of facial recognition. We bought her a pass for the rest of the day, eating the cost of that and day two on the three-day pass. The next day, when I tried to unblock the 3-day pass with my son, the resort had no interest in helping me out or understanding that we weren't passing the pass down the line. Each day, only one person was using it; they weren't losing money. For my son to ski day three, we had to buy yet another junior pass. Yes, my fault, but I wasn't trying to cheat the resort, and they were unwilling to help in any way.
Third, the crowds were some of the worst I've ever seen, and I've skied Austria during Vienna's school ski weeks. As stated above, the lines averaged 22 minutes on our first day and were marginally better the second and third. The first two days, the Chopok gondola was not running because of bad weather, which kept more people on the lower parts of the mountain. What that meant was increased crowds in the lines and on the runs. It was difficult to ski in some places because there were so many people. Anyway, we decided we weren't really on a ski vacation, but on a standing vacation. Also worth noting: the lines are worse than you think because these aren't Germans or Englishmen queuing, these are mostly Eastern Europeans (a Polish woman on the tram one day even admitted as much to me, noting, "I know it's not the Slovaks causing the problems, it's the Poles, and I say that as a Pole"), none of whom have a clue about just queueing up. There is a lot of pushing, cutting, and otherwise poor line behavior. What it does is makes it uncomfortable, especially for the kids and makes the lines take longer. There is no one there to help control the lines at all. Another problem: a six-seat chair should have six turnstiles, not three. That odd need to compact the line right before the chair also slows things down and results in a lot of bad queue behavior.
Fourth, the runs are cut up, icy, and full of moguls by 13:00 or so each day. Now, this is not necessarily a problem for an advanced skier, but for beginners and intermediate skiers, especially considering how crowded it was, it's a huge problem. Even for an advanced skier, it's a problem. You can't pick a line through the moguls and hit it. You never know when some fool is going to come racing across your line, out of control, wrecking.
Fifth, while this isn't in the resort's control, the weather while we were there was mostly atrocious. On our second day, it rained. This was kind of a blessing in disguise because it kept the crowds down, but it wasn't great skiing. Days one and two featured a bunch of wind that shut various lifts down, which meant more people in the other lines. Two days out of three with bad weather isn't a great ratio (even day three, which started out very nice, got warm, and the snow was slushy garbage by the end of the day).
All in all, not a good experience in any way. We'll definitely be staying away in the future.

To start with - Jasna is not good for beginners at all. Their blue slopes contain very steep parts and 30% of them (my personal evaluation) are red. Few of them intersect with red ones which potentially increases risk of collisions. Also, many blue slopes are very narrow (5-7 meters only sometimes) - very uncomfortable when many people go there at once. Signs of slopes could be bigger - sometimes hard to spot when you descent down at speed.
Ski bus was one of the biggest disappointments (we lived next to Hilson Jasna which has the stop over the street) - while this was ok in the morning, in the evening last 2 leave times were survival game when over 200 people tried to get into the one single bus.
Bars and eating places are quite good, situated from bottom to the top of the Chopok mountain.
Parking price is 10 Eur (people manage spots) or 7 Eur (with gopass) in Lučky (first stop where you can get to the cables by foot). In Lučky you enter parking, take the paper ticket, then on exit you pay in parking machine and then same paper ticket opens exit gate. If you want to get a parking place, be there before 8:30. At 8:15 long jam starts to mount in the area.
The resort closes at ~5PM without traces of parties or afterlife. This was sad.
There are quite good service points if you need to wax or fix skies/snowboard. Costs are around 15 Eur.
Overall, with price 58 Eur per adult (2023 February data) it is not worth it in my opinion

The skiing is OK but it is very busy and they had no interest in trying to reduce the horrendous queues for buses at each end. My young family had to wait standing in a crowd for around 1 1/2 hours at both the start, and worse, at the end of the day just to get to and from the car park for the pitiful couple of shuttle buses they laid on. Greedy and mean. Packed in like exhausted sardines. A very unpleasant situation to get into. Staff are rude and disinterested.

Skiing in Jasna Resort in February was this year a nice experience. Ski slopes, ski infrastructure, even weather as positive. Prices are extremely high (almost 60Eur for single day), additionally no free of charge parking.

We took a trip there in August, so it was not crowded. The weather was sunny and clear. The cable lift took us to the mountain peak „Chopok”. There were lots of cafes, bars etc. there. We walked around and admired the breathtaking view.

Bola som očarená krásou Nízkych Tatier. Na Chopok sme sa vyviezli lanovkami, keďže túru by naše malé deti ešte nedali. Prekvalo nás krásne jasne počasie, dobrá viditeľnosť. Dali sme ľahkú túru na Dereše, kde sme videla ja kamzíky. Na Ďumbier sme s deťmi nešli, keďže je to ešte asi 3 hodinová túra. Pohľad dole do údolia bol úžasný. Musím pochváliť čistotu okolia.

Hier muss man zwei Sachen auseinander halten: gute Infrastruktur/großartige Umgebung und daraus resultierende Menschenmassen. Wer das akzeptiert, wird sich hier Wohlfühlen. Wenn man die Hauptwanderwege verlässt, wirds ruhiger.

Rád chodím dálkové pochody a naplánoval jsem si jednodenní trek z Jasnej - Biela Púť s cílem dojít na Donovaly. Po modré a červené turistické značce stoupání ubíhalo celkem rychle a na Chopku jsem stál před šestou ráno. Pokračoval jsem pak na Ďumbier a cestou zpět na Chopok jsem začal potkávat první turisty z lanovky. Další část hřebenovky mě zavedla na vrcholy Dereše, Kotliská, Chabenec a pěkné výhledy byly i z Veľkej Chochule.

I'm coming to jasna in February, and not sure the best way to arrive, from Kosice airport, whether to hire a car or get the train, I thought it would be easier with snowboard equipment in a car, could anyone advise me on driving conditions or how easy it would be on the train? I have driven to the Alps before so are the conditions about the same? Thanks in advance.

Never seen any for sale on the mountain. When you pass through Liptovski Mikulas on your way to the slopes, there are any number of stores you can find one in.

January is usually good time for skiing there. You can hire all equipment and there are lessons for beginners as well. Just ask in a hotel or place you stay.
