Met a delightful lady who owned the gallery. Chatted about Art as my husband has HND in Art. Lots of beautiful Paintings. A must visit .

The lovely Tavira d’artes in Rua de Outubro is opening a brand new gallery tonight (6th April 2019) in the Old Town, Travessa Jacques Pessoa 8 Tavira.
I was lucky enough to have a sneak preview this morning before the gallery opens officially at 6pm tonight. What a fantastic selection of original art the Gallery Director Karen D’Oliveira has chosen for the opening. It’s not often I enter a privategallery and would gladly walk out with numerous purchases but I’m going back tonight and I’m taking my cheque book with me...

We were looking for an original piece of art for a specific place in our Tavira home- we weren't exactly sure what would be right, and had been looking around. Here we found what we thought was absolutely perfect, but it was very expensive, a lot more than we wanted to pay, so we were hesitant. Karen, the owner told us that we could take the painting home for a day or two, and see how we felt- stressing that if it wasn't right for any reason, we could bring it back, with no problem at all. She was extremely helpful, we did not feel pressured at all. So, we took it home, hung it on the wall and-it was 100% perfect! Back we went, with the credit card.......:) The painter of our picture is a Spanish artist, and she gave us lots of information about him, too. Have to say that we completely fell in love with a very large painting by a local artist- only wish the credit card could stretch that far!!

Visited the art gallery recently and enjoyed the small variety of styles and themes on display. It's a small place so only takes 20 minutes or so to look round. There are some promising paintings but I have to be honest and say many were competent but not unique enough or of a quality to justify the very high prices asked. Interesting place to pop into if you're nearby though.

Another little gem in Tavira. Lots of different forms of painting but it is mainly about local artist Fonseca Martins - well laid out gallery and definitely worth a visit.

I love visiting this gallery! There are a mixture of style and my favourite ones are the windows and plants and Tavira landscapes painted by Fonseca. The owner is so friendly and have few paintings herself. A must place to visit!
