You can forget the tourists and the touristy bits, if you like. Just walk through these amazing woods and allow a deep sense of peace to overcome you, and wash away the drama and busyness of your everyday life. Very tempting to simply live there. If that was possible. One of the best things about California.

Secluded Paradise

We started by the Sabrina Lake, the lowest of a series of lakes in the Sabrina Basin. We went up by the Blue Lake which is about 4 miles and 700 feet hurdle, and a good 2 hours hike, at a slower than normal pace. Finally arrived at Blue Lake after 2 hours of grueling struggle. It is all worth it, the beauty of the place is extra ordinary. If you love nature, this is as close as pres tine condition that you could ever have. Paradise indeed.

Back Country in the Sierras - 211 mile trail

John Muir Wilderness is a popular back packing region of the Sierras. It has a very popular 211 mile trail that goes from Yosemite Valley to Mount Whitney area. On this trail, you will see beautiful mountain areas, lakes, etc. Its possible to hike all of the John Muir Trail to see the John Muir Wilderness area. Or you can just hike part of it.

The trail got it name from John Muir - a Scottish-American naturalist, author, and early advocate of preservation of wilderness in the United State

Permits are needed to stay overnight along the trail. It is a wilderness area so you need to be prepared tor that.
