I did the open water course and I'm 100% happy with the diving school and the dive instructor Aldo, he's very patient with everyone and very funny! Awesome guy.
The food in the restaurant was also great. Highly recommended!!

Amazing place
Aldo and his team at the dive shop went above and beyond to make our trip the best. The dive groups are small and the boat crew was very accommodating. Tobias (our divemaster) took the time to help us explore the island and truly make it an amazing trip.

I had an amazing time at Captain Morgans! Safety and having fun were their main priorities, which is the best combination for a diving centre. The staff was very nice, the dorms had good beds and were clean and you have a beautiful view on the sea! Highly recommended!

I went to do my open water but was so nervous I was going to cancel the instructors Aldo and Stef where great instructors i ended up staying and doing my advanced and extra dives. I would highly recommend. It’s in a great location close to everything.The only down side is there is no kitchen so you can cook for yourself . The restaurant has great food . The staff are great and it’s a good price.

I didn't stay or dive here. But I enjoyed some of the most delicious and personally made smoothies here made by Domingo. He was so friendly, warm, and welcoming to his place. I went three days in a row to enjoy the smoothies (had a different flavor each day - sometimes had two in a row). Each time, I enjoyed them on their small private relaxing and beautiful beach. Thank you Domingo for your hospitality.

I have nothing but the absolute best to say about this place and I have dived all across the world. Morgan’s is in a perfect area of town, just 5 minute walk from the ferry pier you arrive at. Great bar and restaurant and I really haven’t had better home cooked style meals in Honduras then them. Unlike other places, it also has a small beach on site.
I did my rescue diving certificate there and I was so lucky to have picked them. I had only 4 days to finish it and they went far and beyond to get it done. I even had 2, not just 1,extraordinary instructors to help me finish it on time. Jesus and Bruce were flawless on their teachings. I have never had better instructors whom also became new friends. They not only taught me the SSI course, but also a huge amount of advice from their experiences. They simply cut no corners.The owner of the establishment is also a great guy. Rooms and dorms were very clean and the atmosphere was flawless.
For training or just for a fun dive, not only can their prices not be beat, you also get the best teachers and service all day and night. Will be back! It’s a great diving family to be part of for years to come.

What stands out about Captain Morgan’s is that they really make an effort to go to great spots on Utila. The Captain, Eduardo, is also really friendly and knowledgeable

Had a great diving experience with Charles he was very knowable about diving and made it fun. I would love to Take the advance course with him.
The only thing is the hotel did not have an kitchen to make your own food. Which is very helpful.

I went to dive 3 years ago for the first time and I loved it. During my travel to Latin America I thought the islands in Honduras were the perfect place to start my Open Water course. I chose the island of Utila but wasn’t sure which one of the Dive’ shops I was gonna go to. I did some research and sent some messages and Captain’s Morgan was the one I went for. The place is really cool, has a lot of space and you can chill on the little beach they have while you don’t go dive or use their kayak. The instructor, Charlie, was really good and made me feel comfortable during all the course and made me learn everything in a really safe but fun way. I ended up doing not only the Open Water but also sign up for the advance. Highly recommended, all the stuff is super nice and you will for sure have a great experience while diving.

Completed our Open Diver Certification at Captain’s Morgan with the support of Charlie.
A bit unsure on whether to try this experience or not, after spending couple of days as a guest and talking to the staff I decided to have a go….and it was amazing! Great experience, lots of fun and a very friendly and knowledgeable instructor named Charlie. Already planning on the Advance Course Certification next week!
Highly recommended!

Did a tourist die recently when the boat was left running and he got tangled in the propeller? I heard that from a diver and 2 former staff members but can’t find a news article on it.

Accidents & Emergencies
On Monday, November 25th the Captain Morgan's dive boat I worked on for the last year and a half was involved in a horrific accident. A young man on the boat was critically injured while swimming with sperm whales; he received poor care from the hospital in Honduras and was flown back to his home in Mexico City. He fought hard but ultimately lost his life on December 6th. The boat Captain, Louis Parsons, found a temporary replacement for himself so that he could take some time to heal from the tragedy. When he went to return to work, the owners of the shop told him he no longer had a job due to the fact that he had 'abandoned his'. After 17 years driving the boat, every day without days off and every holiday working, they let him go; refusing to pay out any of his benefits. Now Louis will have to go to court over on the mainland to fight for his employment rights. I am humbly asking for your donations to help cover the cost of a good lawyer, ferry/transportation, hotel, food, and missed work.

There are flights to San Pedro sula and roatán. Fron there u just take a ferry from ña ceiba if u go to San Pedro sula and from the ferry.

Not sure I can be much help. We just showed up and checked out a few different hostels. Then bartered a price at Morgan's. That was in November. Not sure how busy it is there in April.

Hola,
Nosotros damos el servicio de hotel y buceo, durante nuestros buceos si el capitan cree que se pueden ver los tiburones ballenas el nos avisa y buscamos. No son garantisados por que salen cuando ellos desean pero marzo en un buen mes para verlos. El Curso de open water cuesta $288 por persona.

Hola Eduardo, Un placer saludarte. Captain Morgan's Dive Centre estuvo en el Hotel Kayla, Los Cayitos por 9 años, pero desde Agosto/2012 contamos con nuestro propio Hotel Pirate's Bay Inn en el centro de Utila, el único con playa privada, bar-restaurant.
Sabemos que después de nosotros, inició operaciones ahí mismo otra escuela de buceo, la que por un penoso accidente de uno de sus propietarios se vieron obligados a cerrar.
Captain Morgan’s Dive Centre cuenta actualmente con 20 años certificando buceadores. Si estas interesado puedes visitar nuestras páginas en FB o aquí mismo, así encontraras más información.

Que tal Cristian, perdona, tu sabes si ellos aún dan cursos, pues recien me comentó un amigo que ellos tuvieron un problema debido a un accidente y tanto el hotel como la escuela de buceo están cerrados desde febrero de este año. Quisiera saber si aún están operando. Gracias.
