Electric …. That’s how the stadium feels when the DAWGS are playing! There is no way you won’t have fun! Just check on the concessions….they don’t take cash last time I was there.

Love going to games here. Once you get the hang of the layout its easy to find your seat/section. I just wish the lower level (60 rows) had handrails. Going down is scary!

The stadium is within walking distance from downtown Athens. It is about a 10 minute walk. The atmosphere around the stadium is what you expect at a college game with all the tailgating, the vendors, the students, and fans in team colors.
The interesting thing about the stadium is you can actually watch a game from the outside next to the giant TV near the students sections. You don't need a ticket. Also, the stadium is located next to train track and a cemetery.
A Georgia game should be part of your National College football tour. I got a good deal on seats on a reseller site with chairbacks. The stadium did not sell beer. Did not matter.
The staff is very helpful in getting you to your seat. For parking, you can park in some lots in downtown Athens and walk to the game. Or just a little and park on the street and walk a while to the stadium to avoid the stiff parking fees.

Top Notch College Football Stadium.
I was not here for a game, just passing through town.
Free to visit.
The open end zone is open for inspection.
You can look down into the bowl but are allowed to go into it.
Parking is extremely limited, be careful, don't get a ticket.
Very cool history. You can see the Champion Banners as you walk around the outside of the stadium.
Herschel Walker dominated here!

Sanford stadium is right on the UGA campus within walking distance of downtown Athens. There was plenty of seating although for this ceremony only half the stadium was available. Suggest bringing stadium seats if you have them.

This year was rough, I had family both at the Unversity of Georgia and the University of Cincinnati. I just wore red no-names. Congrats to both teams I hope I have the same dilemma next season. Enjoy going to both home games.

Can I bring my own seat to the football game? Or how can I rent a seat? I am bringing my grandma to a game and I know she won’t be able to sit for long without a seat cushion and back.

How do the seat numbers go in sanford in section 128 are the lower numbers closer to the goal line? Or are the higher numbers?

I wish I could help but I was in the stadium for graduation and seat numbers were irrelevant. We just went where they told us to go.
How can I find out if the tickets I purchased have the stadium seat backs pre installed? And if needed how can I rent them for the game?

You can go on the ticket sites and put in your seat number for a view. Usually they are updated from last year. Typically seat backs are purchased additional if you have season tickets also. You can bring your own just in case. I do regardless. There is no sure way of knowing if the seat backs are with the seats unless you contact the season ticket holder individual. You can not rent them at the stadium.

Are portable fans that spray water get through security if they are empty? I can't see anything saying there allowed but I don't see anything saying there not allowed.

Hi all, can you still bring your own seat backs to the game? We're lucky enough to get some tickets section 108 but don't want to spend $40/seat for 1 game. Thanks as last post i could find about this was from 2015 and there are so many new rules....go Dawgs!

Seat cushions are allowed as long as they’re under 16” wide and without arms or pockets. I believe a seat back would fit theses parameters. I know one of the baggage screener supervisors and I’ll ask today.

The Tate Center is the student center adjacent to the stadium and it has large screen TVS plus eating establishments. Also located in the Tate Center is a theater where games are broadcast. During the UGA game, it can be viewed in the theater.
