I've had the privilege of attending 60 classes with Master Jade, primarily focusing on Kung Fu with a dash of Qigong. Each session has been incredibly rewarding. Thanks to Kung Fu, my reaction times have improved significantly, and I no longer freeze up in challenging situations. It's given me a sense of inner composure and confidence that I deeply appreciate. Additionally, the Qigong practices have helped me regulate myself more effectively, especially during those intense work calls. Ironically, Master Jade taught me more about self-love than my previous therapists.
I'm eagerly looking forward to returning to Chiang Mai to dive back into the practice. Master Jade is not only a skilled teacher but also has a wonderfully funny and cheerful spirit that adds joy to each class. I genuinely appreciate his guidance and highly recommend trying classes with him.

I booked a few hours with Master Jade in Chiang Mai in January 2020 for the first time. At that time, I was undergoing qigong training in Europe. The way he asked questions was very different from what I was used to, and much more in-depth. His explanations were much more elaborate and easy to understand.
At the end of 2020, I started my first online lessons with Master Jade. It works fantastically. Master Jade has taught me so much and, most importantly, has helped develop and open up my spiritual side, which I greatly appreciate. He is very patient and good at explaining things from different angles so they become easy to understand. He teaches me Qigong, and at the same time, I have gained insight into Kung Fu that I did not know before I met Master Jade.
In 2023 and 2024, I have been in Chiang Mai for a few weeks and have been personally taught by Master Jade. During this time, we have been able to work intensively on what I have learned online.
My online education continues, and I greatly appreciate it.

I’ve been a student here for a number of years and can say without a doubt it’s enhanced my health physically, mentally as well as spiritually. Even after leaving Chiang Mai and coming back for short stints n leaving again, the relationship has been amazingly generous and familial.
I’m forever grateful to Jade and the team, and I look forward to the next time I’m in Chiang Mai long enough to be a paying contributor to this self study that has been nothing short of life altering. Highly recommend.

Master Jade is a patient and thoughtful teacher that communicates in English very well. He will always encourage you to ask questions so that he can best tailor the lessons to suit your goals and to help you understand the practice from a holistic perspective.
I first visited him in August 2023 and since then have continued online lessons in Qi Gong then came back to visit in person again in February 2024.
I hope to come back and visit again soon!

Master Jade is the first kungfu teacher that got me interested in self-defense. I have learnt from a few teachers before, but have never been interested in self-defense, as my interest had always been fitness, and wushu as a form of art, rather than a way for self-defense, much less fighting. But after a few months, I started to feel that self-defense can be fun too!
Master Jade has a knack for pointing out where my mistakes are. None of the teachers that I have trained with bothered to point out the finer details on how to improve, or why I keep doing certain things wrong. I have been impressed many times at how Master Jade would hit the nail on the head when I get stuck somewhere.
But what I am most grateful is how sincere he is in helping me. The teachers I have trained with before were mostly perfunctory and careless in attitude, but Master Jade has always been patient and wholehearted. I certainly am very thankful that I have met him in my training journey, and hope that many more people will benefit from his lessons too!

Kids were attending Kung Fu classes for several months, were more than happy and kin to get back. The teacher can really find a way to engage young learners.

Kung Fu Chiang Mai is fantastic, especially if you are lucky to be taught by Master Jade. He teaches everybody according to their needs, and he can somehow do this even in group class. And he builds you up no matter if you need self defense skills or just more balance in your otherwise busy work life, or anything in between. This is a boutique school and very different from the typical commercial places.

Excellent private Kung Fu classes.
I learnt snake forms, both to increase my flexibility, but also for real fighting applications, not just forms, real kung fu. Master Jade knows real fighting, but is friendly and speaks good English enough to describe what and how to do. I've been leatning carious weapons fighting also; so much to learn, not boring. Ofcourse all things take time to learn propperly; one can't expect to be an expert after just 1 class. I have been coming back again and again for many years now. Top marks.
Also, his new school now has aircon, which is good news for when very hot and amokey season, can still train with clean air and comfy. I'd add also, my teenage sons have enjoyed learning Kung Fu here aswell. Has been really good for them.

Short version: I enrolled for classes with Jade and even after a year, 11 (online) classes are pending out of a total of 40 classes. He has, since, made several excuses not to take classes and in the end when I asked for a refund, has stopped receiving my calls and answering to my messages. I would ask everyone to beware of this school especially when enrolling for online classes as there is no way to hold them accountable.
Long version: I decided to write this review after giving it a lot of thought and finally concluded that it would be important for others to know about my experience so as not to make similar mistakes but also because of the unfairness and a total lack of professionalism and principles I witnessed. I also want to add that these are just my experiences and that I don’t want to disregard the positive experiences other students have written about.
I joined the school in early 2023 as I was visiting Chiang Mai for 5 weeks with my family. I enrolled in Jade’s classes and paid for 16 hours of private classes split between him and his sister, Julie. During the Kung fu classes he sold me the idea that I need to take a few more hours to really get the basics (intensive). So I paid for 24 more hours. After a few more classes, he started to talk about a teacher’s program and said how he was impressed by me and wants to invite me. He then went on to tell me that this meant that I could enrol for 150 hours with him. After giving it some thought, I told him honestly that I did not think I could afford to pay 150,000 baht as I was on parental leave and could not take this out of my savings. It seemed like a big commitment to make given I didn’t even live in Thailand. I still said I’d think about it and talk to my partner.
After discussions with my partner, we both agreed that it did not make sense to pay such a large sum for a practice I had just started and to a school that wasn’t even in our home country. So I told Jade that I wasn’t going to enrol in the teacher’s program for now. If, after the end of our classes, I still felt that this was the practice I really wanted to go with, I’d consider it.
After this, everything went downhill. Jade started to cancel classes frequently and I felt as though he stopped taking interest in teaching me. He reduced the time we were spending over the weeks (the initial extension he had asked me to make was so we could spend more hours during my time in Chiang Mai). But now he wanted to shift most of those hours to online.
Fast forward to now: February 2024. We still have 11 classes remaining and he has stopped answering my calls. I have spent a year trying to complete these classes with him. He had a new excuse to not have the class every other week: from a friend’s funeral, to family members being sick, to having corona twice, to neighbours being loud and the wall at home being constructed and so on.
I asked to have the classes transferred to his sister, Julie, because of his unprofessional behaviour and because he said there is a no return policy at his school. Now his sister comes up with similar excuses from having no electricity at home to her son being sick and so on. So, no return policy and also not available to take classes basically means that there is no way to get my money back.
At this point I would just like my money back as I don’t want to associate with this school or its teachers anymore. I understand that money is important in the world, but to have it be the main incentive and then to treat one’s students with such unfairness and disinterest after they have paid for the classes is just unacceptable. Which is why I decided to share this. Jade has, since, doubled his private class rates to 2000 baht an hour which makes me certain that he is mainly incentivised by money and not much else.
One would think that a school that teaches ancient practices such as Kung Fu would adhere to its values of respect, discipline, and compassion but from my experience, Jade has not followed any of these, at least not in our interactions.

Everything you said is not true at all. Please be mindful and inform the truths only. It is very difficult for us not to report this case to Thai Cybercrime Act if you don’t change what you wrote and explain yourself. To respond to your comments, we have to explain that you had requested to enroll into our Anvanced Teacher Course in order to be a teacher yourself. You have promised to study 300 hours and pay 120,000 baht before the course began
There are many people would love to study Advancd Teacher Course in order to improve their skills quickly and finish the course within a short period of time. However, everyone is different. Some people want the best and highest course but only pay half first and other half later while some want to pay in installments but pay one time and disappear. This causes a lot of problems to the school. Therefore, paying full cost is required for every student. Studying Advanced Teacher Course with us means that you can use our school name for your business. Therefore, it is so important for us to make sure everybody passes the standard of our training and then receive the certificate and trust. There should be no problem at all if you are following the rules, focus on your practice and most importantly is to have a pure heart for the course.
In your case, you have a request to pay in installments and asked for a lot of discount from 120,000 baht to 100,000 baht. You promised to pay 25,000 baht for four times. We said yes to you in order to help you because you said you have a monkey mind issue and wanted to learn Qigong to heal yourself. After your course began, you came to learn with Teacher Jade but the whole session of hour you kept talking, resist to listen and learn but speak and learn only what you want to learn. You put your conditions as a monkey mind person in the front and resist to communicate and learn which is already difficult.
Teacher Jade has tried his best to teach you for ten times, however you still not able to listen and learn. Teacher Jade then told you to adjust your course from Qigong 150 hours and Tai Chi 150 hours to pure Tai Chi course 300 with Teacher Aum. You were happy because in Teacher Aum class you can behave the same way. This is the reason why you cannot study with Teacher Jade.
The reason that you are not happy now is because you cannot get a full refund. These are reasons why you cannot get your refund.
1.You told us that you will have time for one year to study this course however you have been changing your words from one year to 10 months and 5 months. However, in the 300 hours course, it will require your time more than 6 months which you already agreed and accepted the rules. (You cannot use Visa issue as an accuse because we have locked time schedule for you. If things change it will affect other students’ time schedule respectively)
2.Teacher Jade told you that you can get your refund if you were not happy but you refused because you still wanted Tai Chi Course with Teacher Aum. However, instead of completing your course you then decide to go to complete a Qigong course in Pai and got your certificate.The problem is the time you went to Pai is the same dates we locked study time for you. Not only Pai, you continue your travel to the southern Thailand which make your study time that was already locked gone. After that, you had issue with your Visa and wanted a full refund. We wanted to help you by giving you back half which is 12,500 baht. However, you want it all 25,000 baht that you paid. For the 25,000 baht, you have already studied for 75 hours and you have 32 hours left. It is impossible to give you full refund because in the contract it was clear that we have No Refund policy and you already started learning for 75 hours. Due to the situation with Civid-19, Thai government doesn’t allow us to have classes. However, it is only a month or a few. If the situation comes back to normal you can still come and study. Now you then have problems with your Visa, you got your Qigong certificate from other school, and you want a full refund. This is not fair to our school at all. You cannot have your refund because you do’t manage your studying time not because you don’t like our course.
The mistakes you did was that you promised to pay 4times each time 25,000 baht(100,000 baht in total) for 300 hours Course but you only paid 1 time 25,000 baht for 75 hours and now asking for full refund. You do not keep your promise and caused problem to our time schedule, our school name which means so much for our family.
We wanted to help you so we gave you opportunity to study at a discount price but you talk badly about us. We have a lot of students and clients studied with us for more than 2,000 persons as the school has run for over 40 years. You are the first person who has this problem and it is a very small percentage. Please consider and think about this again.
Money for 10,000 is not much for us but the reason you don’t get it is not because of money. It is because you don’t deserve it in this case. Teacher Jade suggests you that if you really want to learn and grow, you must pour out the water in your glass to make more space. Teachers are not there to follow your orders and teach only what you want as it will not make you a successful person.
(We have evidence to prove everything what we said. One of them is that we have no-refund policy which you already accepted when you signed the contract)
I have informed and prosecuted you. When you travel to Thailand again.
