We booked our Waterfall canyoning tour through Tay Backpacker Hostel. Tay gives a discount of either a free Tay Backpacker tank top or 30% off a night's stay if you book with the hostel. The price of our tour was $35 USD. The tour included pick up from your hotel/hostel,equipment and use of shoes for canyoning three different waterfalls, two tour guides, and lunch with beers!
The tour itself was well worth the money! The two tour guides Jim and Zume were very friendly and could speak great English. The tour actually turned out to be very adventurous and exceeded my expectations. It was a real experience, and not like your regular tour where the tour guides have a very set schedule and "hold your hand". This tour allows you to experience real adventure. We went canyoning through Tiger falls. We got to canyon down three different waterfalls. There were also some smaller cliffs you could jump off which included a 3m, 5m and 7m jump. The tour guides didn't not push you if you didn't want to jump. They were very helpful and made sure you understood how to properly abseil down. After, we had a picnic lunch, which included great Ban mi (Vietnamese baguette sandwich) fruit and beers that were all included in the tour. Overall I would recommend this tour because of the great adventurous experience and the price!

I had a great time canyoning with Gold Dream tours. The tour goes canyoning through tiger falls.
Just a brief summary of the abseiling:
The first fall is about 32m. In my opinion was the hardest one to abseil as you're going through a waterfall. At the end, they want you to fall into this pool.
The second abseil is about 20m, the wall is quite vertical and you're able to push off and really abseil. You land in waist high water.
The last abseil is about 28m. At the end, the rope is about 3m short. So you're expected to jump the last 3m into the water at the end. The water is really deep. Some of the other participants in the back hadn't heard the instructions, so there was a bit of confusion at the bottom when to jump.
Overall, great experience just be cautious. Food and drinks were awesome at the end as well.
There were other tours operating behind us, I believe all the tours going to tiger falls do the same 3.

Located near the market place, Gold Dream Tours was the only place open over Tet. I went on the Crazy 8 tour with Quang, a young student, working his way through school. He provided excellent value with on going interpretation of different sites. He kept our diverse group safe. The bikes were great and the price was $30 for a 5 hour tour. I tipped him $10 - he was that good!

In contradiction with the previous reviews, the guides we had were professional and spoke good English. It was my first time canyoning, but I felt very comfortable during the whole tour. It was very safe and fun to do. Abseiling from the waterfal was the most fun, but it didnt look like 30m. Be aware that the $30 tour doesn't include the washing machine.

As per other reviews, it is dangerous if there has been rain for the time period prior to doing canyoning (waterfall flowing fast with lots of water volume).
We had small group of 4, with no experience in abseiling, there had been out of season rain and we were straight into the first waterfall abseil ( the washing machine ), you do not know what to expect and do not get an understanding from watching the person prior, so you slip, fall, get blasted be the flowing water, and are grateful to get to the bottom alive.
My rating of 'very good' as is it was a great experience, you need to be physically active person, and be aware of the risk, due to no training and very little briefing.
Please read the other reviews and consider the weather conditions, can not recommend as it can be dangerous, life fretting! Your call.

Usually I like testing my limits and doing extreme stuff, but tos was just too much. The guides were very unprofessional and they barely spoke english. Before climbing down the 30 m waterfall they only said its going to be easy. Well it wasnt. The waterfall was very strong because of rains and it was in my face most of the time and made me loose grip and swing around. The worst thing though was that the rope was too short. I suddenly realised I had just a few decimeters of rope left and I was going down fast because of the pressure of the waterfall. I couldn't stop so I fell down the last 2 meters onto rocks and injured my knee and ankle badly. The guy on the top gad let go of the safety line... One other girl broke ther front tooth. I simply can't recommend this tour, I bet there are just as nice and much safer ones available.

一月時來到大叻參加Gold Dream Tour的登山一日遊，非常愜意宜人，午餐也很豐盛，特別想稱讚一下可愛的嚮導Tim，讓這次健行變得更好玩，一路跟他聊天讓我更加了解越南年輕世代的想法，很有趣。
I went in January and had a great trekking with Tim through the village, across the bridge and picnicking in the pine forest. Very pleasant and helpful guide Tim is. Highly recommend the trek. Tim is the best! He makes the trek very enjoyable. And the whole team seems a bunch of happy fellows. Whoever goes to Da Lat and is an outdoor activity lover must try.
Next time I will probably try the canyoning.

완전 친절합니다. 코스도 적당하고 가격도 많이들 하시는 곳에 비해 저렴해요. 젊은 청년기업의 느낌이에요ㅋㅋㅋ 밥도 맛있고 넉넉했구요! 맥주도 무한으로 줍니다! 사진을 정말 많이찍어줘요!!! 이대로라면 뭐라도 한장 못건지는게 이상할 정도에요. 공개적인 곳에 올리지 않고 메일로 보내주는 것도 좋아요! 너무 잘해주셔서 버스표도 숙소에서 1km 넘게 떨어져있는데 일부러 찾아가서 구매했습니다. 정말 좋았어요.

I personally had a very bad experience. You receive very little in the way of a briefing - walking/jumping down a small hill - there is certainly to safety aspect either. My helmet was broken, the life jacket didn't fit and you're being held by two measly ropes.
From here you find yourself in the middle of a fast flowing river atop a waterfall, 'ready' to begin your 32m decent with no idea of the danger you're about to put yourself in. They take pictures of you (which do come out very well) and make everything seem fun and exciting - it is the opposite when you're going down. 3m into your abseil you are being hit in the face with lots of water, slip on the rocks, have no way of supporting yourself or getting down safely. Thank god they had another 'safety' rope to hold you as otherwise I wouldn't be writing this today. I fell most of the way, hitting rocks and getting churned up in the waterfall. I got dragged out by one of the tour guides, found myself struggling for breath and in complete shock from what had just happened - I absolutely hated it. I did not feel safe and at one point was screaming out for help because I actually feared for my life. There is getting an adrenaline rush and then there is doing this, it crosses the line.
After this hideous experience you then continue down the river. We trekked for around an hour and a half through the jungle, on slippery rocks, through rubbish and on many occasions across the fast flowing river - more danger! I really just wanted to give up, but there is no way of getting out unless you continue. The tour guides like to force you into things and tell you it's 'easy'. I was really fed up by the end, sat out the next 2 abseils and couldn't wait to leave. I feel lucky that I have survived with so few injuries.
Lunch was very good and they like to feed you beers - I certainly needed one! It has been raining a lot in the days before we did this so it may be better and less dangerous in a different season when there has been less rainfall. Other people in the group enjoying it but said it was far from safe, I was just too traumatised by the first abseil that it completely ruined my day.
I'm not saying don't do it, I'm saying that you need to be very prepared for an unsafe experience.
