We had such a great trip on Lan Ha Bay! We contemplated doing an overnight charter but ended up staying at Cat Ba island and doing a day trip instead. Lan Ha Bay was beautiful and serene and we were definitely able to go off the beaten track. There was little trash and few charters around and we are so happy we went here instead og Halong Bay.
We got to see more than the charter boats since we were onboard a smaller boat which are allowed to travel other places. We saw the floating fishing villages, kayaked around Lan Ha and saw a beautiful lagoon and went to a couple of beaches. Since we were the only two on board the trip was very flexible which we appreciated. We sat on the deck at the front of the boat (which we believe was a larger taxi boat) and it was such a great way to see Lan Ha Bay. Our captain was also very helpful and a really cool guy who cooked up some of the best vegetarian food we have gotten in Vietnam in a tiny kitchen on board the boat.
Our guide was kind, informative, and funny. The WhatsApp communication before the trip was a bit strange so we were a bit nervous about the trip, but it really exceeded our expectations and we were so happy to be able to enjoy Lan Ha bay without queuing for kayak gear, padling in line, or having to adhere to a strict time schedule.

David came recommended from some work colleagues who had gone on a couple tours with him in the Hanoi and Hai Phong area earlier in the week. He was a fantastic recommendation and was able to put together a custom trip for me within Hai Phong to show me the sites of the city and the surrounding area in a relatively short period of time.
David was fluent in English and knew the history of the city and Vietnam as a country. He was able to get very comfortable vehicle accommodations set up for me which was nice due to my stature. All this and a very reasonable price as well.
I look forward to using David's services the next time I visit northern Vietnam. Thank you David!

We had a great day with David on a fishing day on a totally local place. David pick us up at Hanoi and after one hour driving we visited a local market. David provide all information of a daily life for Vietnam people and their culture. Next stop was a visit at a Vietnam family at their home. Visiting their farm with all the fruits. Going fishing for 2 hours and catching more than 10 fish, enough for a self cooked lunch. The family was very friendly and polite. After the lunch with the family we took a motor bike ride trough the village and visit a local who growing a lot of different flowers at his place. He invited us for beer and peanuts, also made a very good green tea and talk about his experience during the Vietnam wars. It was very interesting to listen from his perspective of his time which he was involved it.
After that returning to the family and take a break returning back to Hanoi.
Thank you David for the special time with all the experience and the very friendly people and their stories.

If you are visiting Vietnam and have come across Hanoi Eco Tour, there really is no need to look further – do yourself a favor and book now! From the first phone call I had with Nam (David) to learn more about his tours, I could tell he was a strong communicator, sincere, professional, mindful of logistics/details, and had a sense of humor. He crafted a phenomenal itinerary for our 3-day private tour in northern Vietnam (Hanoi city and food tour, Ninh Binh/Tam Coc, and Ha Long Bay). I have traveled to 30 countries and experienced many wonderful tours with local guides, but Nam is #1! We learned so much from him about Vietnamese culture, history, food, architecture, tourism economy, etc. He was easy to talk to, good-humored, and genuinely cared for our experience and well-being. We were in regular communication before our arrival; he was quick to answer questions and gave guidance on preparations (e.g., visa info). He was transparent about pricing and worked with us to create an experience that fit our budget. Once there, if we needed to buy something, he helped us to communicate with vendors, and even did several detours to help us find specific items we needed. We moved on to Cambodia and southern Vietnam after our time together, and he sent us so many great recommendations for those parts of our itinerary, even though our private tour had ended. He even called our homestay in Mekong Delta to get directions on how to arrive so that we were well prepared. Nam (David) went above and beyond and made us fall in love with Vietnam! My friend and I hope to return one day to see more of Vietnam, and we would only consider touring with Nam in the future. I could not recommend Hanoi Eco Tour enough, and I’d especially encourage a multi-day private tour like we did (if time/budget allows). As always, book directly through guides when possible to support the local tourism economy!

We had wonderful highlight of Vietnam ancient history in Ninh Binh and also unique experience with the serene boat tour in Trang An Scenic Complex exploring caves and the bird sanctuary.
We had smooth airport transfer from Hanoi International Airport to Ninh Binh.
David has very good english, was very proactive and responsive, accomodative, and he communicate well.
I am glad that my last minute travel arrangement went smoothly with him.

If you would like to see Vietnamese in your houses and fields to enjoy a tasty meal you have contributed to this is the tour to look for. We were 5 friends who booked this tour and thought it was excellent. And David was very helpful and flexible to accommodate our requests. Strongly recommended - an Eco tour different to other tourist experiences

Great day out, nice to have a break from the tourist side of Hanoi. Tour guide had great knowledge of the area and the history of vitenam english very good, we really enjoyed the farming wonderful experiance

Wir wollten aus dem quirrligen Hanoi einen Tag aufs Land. Einmal in Ruhe mit lokalen Menschen zusammen kommen. Das ist David mit dem Culture Farm Trip gelungen. Er holt einen morgens gegen 8 Uhr ab und bringt einen gegen 16 Uhr wieder zum Hotel. Dazwischen Marktbesuch, Gastfamilie kennenlernen, Reispflanzung und zwischen den Feldern spazieren gehen. Viel fragen und viel erfahren. Genau die richtige Mischung. Dazu noch ein leckeres Lunch mittags. Und zum Schluß noch eine Pilzfarm besucht. David hat uns in fliessendem Englisch viel über Land und Leute nähergebracht. Sehr empfehlenwert!

Duong Lam is a really genuine slice of Vietnam and not one of the common tourist spots around Hanoi.
We had a really lovely day exploring the ancient village with our fantastic guide, Kia. He was very knowledgeable and patient with all our questions.
We wondered through the streets, sat and drank tea with local children wanting to practice their English with us, ate a fabulous local lunch and road bikes through countryside.
Thank you Eco Tours for a really fabulous day.
