Islam jest tu religią państwową a Świątynia Dhakeshwari jest centrum kultury i kultu hinduistycznego w Bangladeszu .Jej początki sięgają XII wieku .Wielokrotnie była niszczona i odbudowywana. W trakcie wojny o niepodległość w roku 1971 uległa poważnym zniszczeniom i utraciła w jej efekcie sporo swego terenu .Obecna statua bogini Dhakeshwari z jej świątyni jest repliką a oryginał wywieziono do Kalkuty .Wszystkie obiekty na terenie kompleksu świątynnego są bardzo zadbane a wierni wyjątkowo pogodni i kontaktowi .To idealne miejsce do obserwacji hinduistycznych ceremonii i poznania tych przemiłych ludzi .

Bangladesh is a multinational religious country with extreme majority of Muslims. Sree Sree Temple is a holy place for Hindus in Bangladesh, where about 7% of people’s religion is. Had a nice visit, ring the bell, drum man, many believers do their worship with a scream sound like, I never heard before during my many visits to other temples. Light a candle.

This is apparently the oldest temple in Dhaka, if you haven’t seen e temple before then it’s probably a nice thing to see, otherwise it’s very ordinary and makes it on the tourist route courtesy of the guide companies lack of inspiration.

Der Tempel sieht nicht wie ein historisches Gebäude aus, sondern eher wie ein Neubau. Schön ist es, dass auch wirklich religiöse Rituale dort stattfinden.

Its a place within the busy old Dhaka street, surrounding gives a feel of a mixture of old and new Dhaka. Hindu religion believers worship here during Hindu festivals and Puja, this place is the most vibrant and festive place.

The thrill to visit there is like the birth place of Dhaka.The name of Dhaka comes from this historical place.And the diversity of culture is just awesome.The environment it self is enough for to visit.In there the goddess Kali/Durga is said to be the defender of whole Bangladesh according to the vedas and purans.The smell of being there in the Diwalli is just majestic.You have to be there to feel the unforgettable experience. Belive me you will never regret.

Durga Mandir at old Dhaka. Neat and clean mandir (temple) and one of the oldest mandir of Dhaka. Mandir opens at 7am in the morning and closes for two hours from 2pm to 4pm and remain open till 9pm. One can collect bhog from the mandir premises from 12.30 pm onward.

This temple complex in Old Dhaka is quite striking. Domes and bright colors, it is interesting to visit. Of course, you have to take your shoes off. The ground can be very dirty and damp. It is a peaceful respite from the din and pollution of the city.
