It was a pleasure to play this course. The layout is great, greens fast and “hilly”. There is an abundance of bunkers (I should know as I was in them all) lots of water hazards and difficult rough.
My only beef is that the Caddies language skills are not very advanced.
I would play this course any day of the week and twice on Sundays.
Can’t wait to get back next week.

I played this course as a single. They put me off the back first which was fine until about the eighteenth hole. At hole one, there were four groups waiting to tee off. One of the groups in front was agonizingly slow to the point of having to wait 10-15 minutes a shot. I walked off the last 4 holes and complained to deaf ears.
I’d rather play a bad course with acceptable pace of play than what I experienced. If a solo player or twosome, save your money and play elsewhere. I truly hope the owners read this. Had I been modestly compensated for my experience, I may have returned. Now, I’ll never give them my business. Extremely expensive for what is offered.

First time playing this course and loved it. While not cheap...very well maintained, super fast greens and picturesque surroundings. Buggy, caddy, hire clubs and pro shop service all top notch...will book a stay in the hotel for my next round.

An IMG designed course in pristine condition. Great facilities and staff. A very enjoyable course, there is a hotel on site which would be useful if all you wanted to do in Phnom Penh was to play golf. Otherwise about a 45 minute journey from the palace in downtown Phnom Penh.

Played this immaculate course in November of 2019. The fairways and greens are obviously tended to with loving and precise care. A challenging course to say the least but rewards a golfer who is willing to take a risk. The bunkers are extremely well looked after and raked perfectly by the caddy should you land in one. The greens are well layed out with large undulations and slopes although thankfully my caddy obviously knew the course well and gave me precise lines for all of my putts. I have read previous reviews of this course complaining about the cost involved and hence I would have to strongly disagree. The cost of playing here befits the standard of the course and the quality of the guidance from my caddy. No complaints from this golfer. The club house is simply a Grand affair but agree with previous reviews that it did indeed present as somewhat soulless. There was minimal interaction from the staff employed there and was almost deserted as far as participating golfers were concerned. The clubhouse itself is covered in marble with high vaulted ceilings but there was nobody there to enjoy such splendour, it did seem such a shame. All that aside, I went there to golf and was certainly not disappointed. The course itself would bring me back time and time again, I cannot recommend this course highly enough. Well done Garden City, I will definitely next time I am in Phnom Penh.

Overall rating fair. Distance from city centre approx 40 mins - acceptable.
Fee for weekdays all-in (green+buggy+caddy) is way too high. Should be between USD 70-80 max. Just overpriced.
Fairways and greens have deteriorated since I played there a year back. I see less maintenance staff on site which probably explains why.
Sand in bunkers are rated fair but a year back it was fantastic - so gone down in quality.
Caddies are good. Overall they are quite knowledgeable, in terms of approach distances and they read the putting lines quite well. They are also quite attentive. So full marks for the caddies.
The changing room is excellent.
Overall I would say a good course to play in, maintenance of course has dropped and over-priced for weekday golf

If you planning to golf in Phnom Pehn, Garden City Hotel is your best option. The hotel is conveniently located within the Garden City Golf course which is one of the better golf courses in Cambodia.
The hotel is about 30min by car from the city centre and you will need transport to reach the city. The hotel has a large compound. There are 2 driveways , one leading to hotel and the other to bag drop off for golfers. The staff are friendly and very helpful.

Der Garden City Golfplatz ist in jeder Hinsicht und mit weitem Abstand der beste Golfplatz in Phnom Penh.
Das beginnt mit dem Clubhaus, das ein sehr schönes Hotel ist, aber auch dem Golfer, der nicht hier wohnt, alle Annehmlichkeiten bietet.
Z.B. Lockerrooms und Duschen vom Feinsten.
Der Empfang und die ganze Organisation perfekt.
Nicht billig wenn man sich das Preisniveau des Landes vor Augen hält, aber im Vergleich zu den thailändischen Spitzenplätzen mit 125$ incl Cart und Caddy nicht teuer.
Der Platz ist wie die Landschaft hier flach, aber was sehr schön ist, wie die Seen und Teiche eingebunden sind.
Viele Palmen und schöne Pflanzen, eine Augenweide.
Der Pflegezustand, die Abschläge, Fairways, Grüns, alles vom Feinsten.
Die Grüns pfeilschnell, meist stark onduliert und sehr groß, man muss schon sehr konzentriert spielen, um mit 2 Putts auszukommen.
Ein Platz von internationalem Standard, der keinen Vergleich fürchten muss.
Unbedingt spielen!
Hatte ein sehr kompetente und nette Caddylady.
War ein perfekter Golftag!

This is the best golf course I have ever played. The way that it is maintained is a credit to everyone onsite. This was the fifth time I’ve played here andI just wish I could’ve gotten in more than one round on this trip. Can’t wait to get back again.

Garden City is a top class golf course - beautifully maintained, great layout and the on-course service at the strategically located and well-stocked drinks huts is impeccable. The practice area is also top drawer. Caddies are friendly and knowledgeable, the welcome at the pro shop is professional and efficient and the locker rooms are well run and well kept. So many pluses to a visit to Garden City but on the flip side the dining and “19th Hole” options do not match the quality of the rest of the course which is a great shame as a nice terrace bar with a view over the course would be a very welcome beginning and end to what is otherwise a great day out. Midweek special rates are worth checking out as the weekend walk-in rate is quite high - although that is justified by the quality of the course and in line with similar quality facilities in Siem Reap. With a new 36 hole course in southern Phnom Penh soon to open, Cambodia’s charming and lively capital should be a must visit on every golfers bucket list.
