We toured Colombo City on a Day Safari with our tour guide, Pradeep, who was entertaining and knowledgeable. We journeyed through several Colombo neighbourhoods, temples and local businesses in a clean and safe Three Wheel or Tuk Tuk. I would highly recommend Tuk Tuk safari for your transportation needs while visiting Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Great day in Colombo
Highly recommend this tour. We had a wonderful tour of Colombo with Pradeep of Tuk Tuk Safari. Pradeep showed us the full breadth of the diversity that is Colombo. We arrived on a major Buddhist holiday and he knowledge allowed us to fully understand the significance and the traditions being observed. It was such an enjoyable tour that we hired Pradeep for a second day of touring. Pradeep is very knowledgeable, engaging and his English is impeccable. He also has a great deal of experience and expertise in longer tours throughout Sri Lanka, especially wildlife tours. You will have an enjoyable day whatever you do with Tuk Tuk Safari.

A day in Colombo!

I had a really good trip with Pradeep as my guide. He took me to some really cool places I would not have thought of going on my own. He was extremely informative and took great pictures! We finished the trip at a Ceylon Tea shop where I got to try lovely teas after I told him how much I loved tea. The trip felt very personalised which I loved! Would definitely recommend this and use this service again :)

A fantastic few hours with Pradeep tootling around the city of Colombo.
Pradeep was very knowledgeable about the city and we had many stop offs around and about. WE LOVED IT ! without doubt the best sightseeing trip we have had.
We were picked up at the cruise terminal no problem and Pradeep kept in touch via whattsapp before the booking. I am always dubious about this kind of thing but the whole thing was wonderful and I highly recommend if you are going to be in the city!
PRADEEP IS A STAR!

I hate to give negative reviews, but I’m sorry to say this tour was not as expected or advertised.
Firstly there was no Blue and Yellow Tuk Tuk. Just a normal street machine like the thousands of others.. No big deal. Also our guide was not wearing a white uniform. Just everyday clothes. So if you like the look of the photos when booking you may be disappointed. Not sure what has happened.
Pradeep communicated well before the tour, but he did not take the actual tour. We became aware that there was a cruise ship in town, and generally we would keep as far away from that scene as possible. But it seems that we were actually on a convoy with several others Tuk Tuks who had picked up passengers from the ship. Our guide told us it was a very busy day…and that was made clear early. The whole thing seemed a bit of a shambles. And our guide was doing his best to direct the other drivers from what we could see. Most places we visited either had the other guests already there, and were too full it get in. Or they arrived soon after us. So while yes it was a private Tuk tuk, it still felt like we were on a large group tour…not our thing, and not what was advertised.
A few of the venues we visited seemed totally overwhelmed by the group size and at one stage we had to do a walk up and down the street to wait for space to get in. As an example we visited a Tea tasting/ shop and got ignored at first and then given the very quick run down with a “we are just too busy feel” about it. We actually returned there by ourselves later the same day and received an excellent personalised tasting with a much more relaxed staff.
Our guide/driver was nice and did his best, but the day just didn’t click for us.

Dear guests. thank you for your honest feedback, I'm really sorry to hear that tour not as you expected. we tried our best to give you a personnel tour but things like places been busy bit difficult to control from our end specially when cruse ship arrived. however I'm happy to hear that you like to come back, please let us know in advance to arrange your tour with personal touch. thank you.

Not sure where their cover photo came from, but not a depiction of the actual tour. We booked what was listed as a private tour, but instead were thrown together with 10 random Tuk tubs, with drivers who didn’t know where we were going. We drove up and down the same street 6 times looking for a tour leader. We went to a coffee place, but by the time all Tuk Turks got parked, we were told we didn’t have enough time to have coffee. We were then told instead we would go for juice, but again drove around and never stopped for anything to drink. We asked if we would be going to red mosque and were told yes, but not to ask our driver. Well, we never went to red mosque. Very disappointed. Not private, and we didn’t do most of the items on itinerary. I could have just hired a Tuk Tuk on the street and had a much better and cheaper experience

Dear Susi, Thank you for express your honest feeling.as you saw/knew we had a few tours same day after three years of pandemic. there are few things that we can't control (Ex: some shop can be closed for weekend) but I'm really sorry to hear you didn't get the experienced as you expected. as we always concern about our guests comment i will personally attend to this matter. please contact me direct. we will make sure our next guests will get best experience, while travel with us in Colombo. appreciate your support.

Colombo Exposure Tour
I always try to get an overview of the culture and city...Pradeep nailed both! I loved his laid back style and deep knowledge of culture and religion. Recommend tour without hesitation!

Pradeep was really good. He will drive to the tourist spots And local spots! Terrifying how they drive in Colombo but he is very good and a careful driver! The Tuk Tuk ride is a must do!

Fun Fun and more fun

My daughter and I did this safari on 10th February 2023. Tiron and our driver Bob Marley were outstanding in their care and service. It was Fun fun fun….. Loved driving the auto albeit for a few minutes. I would highly recommend this safari. Even the locals would enjoy it. So please try it , enjoy it and help this company to get back on its feet after being hit by covid.

Don't miss this wonderful experience

We spent all day with Pradeep on a private tour of Colombo with our 5 year old twins. I had asked him to make it "kid-friendly" and we ALL had the most amazing time. The adults got lots of history, culture and interesting stories while the kids got to wonder at the colourful sights and sounds of the city. He was so patient and kind with them, and they loved the tea tastings especially. They even got to try driving! Don't miss this wonderful experience, Pradeep is deeply knowledgeable and passionate about his country, and also a very sensitive and intuitive host. Can't recommend highly enough!
