Hier gibt es zahlreiche kleinere Restaurants und Fast-Food-Ketten mit gutem Essen wie zB Falafel oder Fleischteller. Als ich da war, war die Straße richtig voll.

Jerusalem is a magical city like none other. The ancient and modern history is everywhere you walk. The people are amazing and friendly. The food is wonderful wherever you go. Felt very safe at all times as well. Do not wait any longer to go!

This used to be a must gathering place for youth. On a Thursday night (in the winter) and Saturday night (in the summer) you will still find the crowds of youth from around the world gathering. If you above 21, skip this. The tourist stores have great selections - BECAUSE their prices are so high they make a fortune from you. This is no longer a must see. It is the opposite (unless you are 21 or younger)

Great place to walk, enjoy a snack and negotiate. We walked along this street several times as it's near our (Arthur) hotel. The only major thing I'd add is that there are some very distinctive things in some of the shops - and it's definitely expected in many that you will negotiate a price. We did this. Shop keepers in many cases will give an additional discount for cash.

Stay far away from this booth in the market. We were taken advantage of and over charged by these men. I have attached the picture of the booth. We went back with the concierge of the hotel. He tried to negotiate with the men and let them know that we were overcharged, and they would not hear of it, or friends that we were traveling with were taken advantage of by these people as well.

Everyone seems to know this place - great food, fun stores, and lots of "people watching". It's a long hill, so be prepared to walk uphill at some point.

Lots of regular shopping here... shoes, clothes, a couple of pharmacy's, etc. There is also a number of restaurants you can choose from. So if you're looking for a fun place that gets lively at night, but still feels safe, this is it.

Ben Yehuda Street is a great place to hang out and stroll. There are usually many very talented street musicians playing and it has great little shops. It is fun to sit and relax with good food or coffee and enjoy life in Jerusalem,

Lots to see, do and shop for gifts and souvenirs, sit at one of the cafes to people watch, or dine at one of the eateries. I enjoyed having lunch, people watching, and window shopping.

What time does Ben Yehuda St. in Jerusalem shut down on Fridays in July?
I'm looking for a store on Ben Yehuda St that sells printed t-shirts. I was there in February and found a Jack Daniels t-shirt in either Arabic or Hebrew. Want to buy more but can't remember the name. The store is on the right hand side as you go down from King george.

About 17.30 Shabbat ends and shortly after all shops reopen. However 17.30 is at this time of the year, for general guidance, Shabbat ends 72 minutes after sundown. Sunday יום רשון is generally a good day to go to Ben Yehuda Street.

Will it be okay for a female solo traveler to go there alone after Sabbath? How about transport back to the hotel?

I am not sure about when and how late the transportation runs after it starts up again after Shabbat. It is pretty safe. You should be aware of people and your belongings anywhere in the world you are, as a solo female. Make sure you have good walking shoes and maybe a light jacket you can stuff in a bag, as a breeze a night can be cold.
