Where to begin about our trip with Baruch! Baruch came to us through a family friend connection—and what a fortuitous connection it was, as I do not think we could have gotten a more wonderful and seamless experience in Israel than the one we had with Baruch.

A few months before our trip, I had a Zoom with Baruch. He asked us what kind of tourists we are and what kind of trip we wanted. Based on our call, he suggested an itinerary for us. Meanwhile, a few of my family members who would be going on this trip got suggestions of places we must visit from some friends. I relayed these to Baruch, he let me know what we could easily fit in and what would require letting some things go. We did this back and forth for a while until we got to a feasible itinerary we were all happy with. All the while, he always responded to my way-too-many emails!

Baruch’s truly gargantuan knowledge of Israel and its larger historical context, his gift for storytelling, and his incredibly kindness are what made him so special. But before we get to that, some logistical points: Baruch has a 7-passenger van that he drives to shuttle us up and down the country, which was a real bonus. On our first day with him, he met us at our hotel and gave us a general Israel overview. Then we packed into his van and set off for six fantastic days in his care. His car is big and comfortable, and he rather ingeniously installed a refrigerated bin so we always had cold water on hand. As he drove, he would point out sites along and educate us on their history. He has a little microphone above the driver’s seat with speakers to the back, so all seven of us in the car could hear him. I should note: He's an excellent and safe driver! That he has this van made everything so seamless. It also meant that we had a lot of flexibility throughout the day.

We are still marveling at the depth and breadth of Baruch’s knowledge. Just as important, he conveyed it with such enthusiasm and animation. Never once did we feel like he was lecturing us; instead, he brought historical sites to life. He put context around everything, which helped us develop a deeper understanding of the history he shared with us. He sparked our imaginations and got us thinking. And he’s got a great sense of humor and made us laugh. It was truly a joy to learn from him. He was beyond patient with our gagillion questions and always happy to answer them. He was also happy to adapt our itinerary as needed, as he wanted the trip to be ours.

Baruch is also incredibly kind. At one point, one of my family members got sick. Baruch couldn’t have been more compassionate and helpful as we took some steps to make sure this person was OK. Not all guides would have handled such a situation as graciously and professionally as Baruch did. It’s vulnerable to get sick—or watch a family member get sick—in a country that’s not their own. It was such a comfort knowing that if this family member needed medical attention, Baruch was there to help make sure he got it. Fortunately, this wasn’t necessary, but Baruch truly put us at ease.

I would be remiss if I did not also mention that Baruch suggested some sites and activities that we would have otherwise never known to go to or do. One was spending an evening at the home of a Druze woman and cooking dinner with her. This was through a company called GalilEat, whose owner, Paul, arranges home visits to learn from and cook with locals. It was a highlight, and I’m so grateful Baruch suggested this. Paul translated as we spoke to Pnina and learned about her Druze religion, which was utterly fascinating. And then Pnina invited us into her kitchen to help her cook some dishes for dinner. She’d already prepared most of the dinner’s meals, but we had so much fun making a few of them with her. And most importantly—hands down, this was my favorite meal in Israel. I am still thinking about it!

Thanks to Baruch, we made so many wonderful family memories across Israel. We came back home much more informed and aware of this special country, thanks to him. Ours was truly a trip of a lifetime, and Baruch was integral to this. I could not recommend him more. I’ve already passed his name along to a friend considering a trip to Israel soon, and I will happily spread the word to others every chance I get.

My husband & I just returned from a 2 week trip to Israel. We used a company called Touring with Baruch. Baruch Frank is extremely knowledgeable & makes all the sites come alive with stories & facts. He is attentive to individual needs & interests. My husband & I are in our 80's. Baruch tailored the tour to our need to take things a little slower. We had told him of our personal interests. Besides the archaeology, history, current events, typical tourist sites & activities, my husband was interested in military stuff & I wanted to do some birdwatching. Baruch incorporated those subjects into our tour. Also, his English is very good, so we had no problem understanding him. When we talk about how fantastic he is as a person & as a guide, we run out of superlatives! He is truly terrific!

Baruch has a massive wealth of knowledge on the history of Israel and most importantly knows and shares all sides of the history. It's rare to find a guide like Baruch and he caters the tour to the group very well

Baruch’s knowledge of Israel—from the ancient world, to today’s evolving political climate—is unmatched. From his service in the IDF, growing up on a Kibbutz after emigrating from the US at 8, to endurance riding and touring all over Israel, there is no better prepared guide. He made our 2 weeks a masterclass in understanding such a dynamic nation, at a pace even the most seasoned traveler would appreciate. It would be a privilege to have Baruch take you around for your trip!

We had an amazing experience touring Israel with Baruch. This was my 4th time and my husbands third yet he still found new and interesting places for us to see. He was completely flexible and a pleasure to spend time with. Our 20 years old son, really enjoyed being with him as well.

We spent 11 days with Baruch, going from Tel Aviv, to the Golan, to Jerusalem. We had a group of ten across three generations and it was a first visit to Israel for most of us. Baruch engaged everyone in the family and included fun kid activities (chocolate making, off-road tour of the Golan). I was really impressed with how much the kids learned and absorbed. My ten year old said it was his favorite vacation ever and my 13 year old is quizzing me on Old Testament history.

Baruch was patient and flexible, helping us keep everyone happy while also ensuring we saw nearly everything on the itinerary. For example, we chose very last minute to throw out the last day activities and spend more time in Jerusalem. Baruch pivoted and gave us a tour of some areas of the city we would not have otherwise seen.

Baruch is both an avid outdoorsman who will keep you active if you want to hike and bike as well as a deeply knowledgeable expert in the history, religions, and politics of the region. He is a great storyteller and made some of the more nuanced historical events comprehensible for everyone.

A few highlights:

- The off-road tour of the Golan was awesome. We stopped and had tea and pomegranates while looking out over the Hula valley. The kids enjoyed seeing the bunkers and tunnels left from the Syrian army and learned the history of the Six Day War.
- Everyone loved the short hike in Ein Gedi. We were able to see Hyrax, Ibex, and even a white fox. Baruch was teaching the kids outdoor survival skills and showing them all the plants and animals.
- The kangaroo petting zoo. Selfies with a kangaroo!
- Baruch knows which shops to visit. One of my kids wanted an ancient coin and Baruch knew someone in the old city of Jerusalem who was able to help us get a really cool memento of our visit.

Definitely tour Israel with Baruch!

Baruch our Israeli tour guide gave us a truly amazing experience. It is one we will certainly treasure for the rest of our lives. Baruch's kindness, patience and knowledge were endless and we cannot recommend him highly enough. He even takes fantastic photos and dropboxed them to us before we were even home. Thank you again Baruch, you are a star.

This was our first trip to Israel. Family of 5. Kids are 16, 15, and 7. 15 year old has autism and Baruch had experience with special needs children. He did a great job guaging how to keep the kids interested in conversations and when they needed space.

Baruch called us to get a really good idea of what we wanted to see and do. He customized the trip just for us. We went places we never would have known to go if we'd tried to put together a trip on our own.

We even got to see the new section of King David's Palace/Western Wall a week BEFORE the grand opening.

He even helped us carry our luggage up 4 flights of stairs at one of our apartments.

On a scale of 0-5 Baruch is a 10. Hire him as your guide it will be more than worth it.
