Alla vera scoperta della Green Line

Interessantissimo tour della Green Line, strada che divideva la città in due durante la guerra civile. Samira ci ha guidati raccontando i dettagli storici e culturali e aggiungendo anche un po' di avventura, permettendoci di curiosare tra gli edifici ancora distrutti ma che mantengono il fascino di una volta. Penso che il tour sia interessantissimo per chi si trova qui per turismo ma anche per chi, come noi, vive a Beirut ma ancora non l'ha del tutto scoperta.

Green Line between past and present

I truly enjoyed the Green Line tour that Samira organised. She was full of passion for the art, the history and the culture of her country and this was well transmitted throughout the tour. We visited some abandoned houses while exploring the conflicting and controversial narratives about the Lebanese civil war. Absolutely recommend.

Absolutely worth experiencing

I had initially searched for tours that would be unique and touch on politics and history of Lebanon when I landed on ATB and I'm really glad I did! The meeting spot was great and well known so not hard to find. The tour guide, Alex, was a very passionate young tour guide which made it really engaging. The tour took look than the expected time but it was fun and so informative so I absolutely didn't mind. I think as a young person interested in the country, its political climate and its history, this was perfect and it was even emotional for me in some aspects. Would absolutely recommend people to join this tour and support the incredible young people who have founded, developed and continue investing their time in teaching the world about their beautiful country.

Informative and fun

Can't recommend this organisation enough. I did the alternative Beirut tour with Alex and I would have done the Green Line Tour as well if the marathon hadn't been on. Alex was extremely knowledgeable and answered all of our questions about parts of Beirut that most tourists don't see. We also had stop offs at an excellent coffee shop and for lunch.

This would be a great tour for anyone who wants to understand recent Lebanese history, street art around the city and architecture. Hope to come back soon to do the Green Line tour!

Best walking tour of Beirut

This is a must-do tour in Beirut. Get an in-depth, local perspective on everything from the civil war to the economic crisis and port explosion. You also get in places you wouldn’t be able to see on your own. One of the best walking tours I’ve ever been on. Very highly recommend.

Authentic, interesting tour of Beirut!

We did a mix of Both tours offered in Beirut, the tour guide Ounsi was so interesting, he brought his own unique opinions in Lebanon and also has so much knowledge about the country and its history. If you want to get into some really interesting conversations about Lebanon, Beirut, and how unique the place is, this is a great tour and guide. The pace was great, not rushed, and many stops to see the main neighbourhoods and points of interest. A very pleasant experience and great to do at the start of the trip if you’d like to familiarise yourself with Beirut. Thank you to the Alternative Tour Beirut team!!

Great way to spend few hours in Beirut and learn about its history

Fabulous experience. Perfect tour and source of knowledge on what's happening in the incredibly complex Lebanese history and politics. we thoroughly enjoyed the narrative and how engaging the conversation was and the places we visited along the way. Highly recommend it to everyone wanting to know a bit more about Lebanon!

Perfect if you want to learn about Beirut's history

I highly recommend this tour. It was my first day in Beirut and I got so much informationen about the City, architecture, people and history.
Samira is just amazing and has a huge knowledge.

Excellent tour through Beirut's current history

Very nice and interesting tour through Beirut. Especially for interests in the latest history and for Beirut beginners it's a great experience. You have the opportunity to visit great spots and the guides takes it in relation to happenings.
Absolutely recommended!
