If you are considering climbing any of the mountains in Bolivia, make sure it’s with Pedro and his team at Bolivian Mountaineering. Pedro’s guidance, professionalism, and passion for the mountains and not to mention vast expertise make all the difference. I summited Huayna Potosi with him as a solo traveller and incredibly grateful for a fantastic experience where despite the challenging weather conditions, I always felt safe and led by the very best and lucky to have made a successful summit in rain season! An incredible climb with a wonderful guide and friend.

I spend 8 days with Pedro and his friend Jose from Bolivian Mountaineering in the areas of Condoriri, Huayna Potosi, and Sajama. In the 8 days we managed to reach 7 summits: Pico Austria, Cerro Tarija, Chaquini, Huayna Potosi, Acotango, Parinacota, and Huisalla. 3 of them above 6000m. Pedro was a super friendly, nice, safe, and knowledgeable guide. He knows all the mountains in Bolivia very well, and also those outside of Bolivia in South America. He was very flexible with my wishes and ideas, e.g. to skip the high camp and go to Huayna Potosi from the base camp to safe one day. In general, our itinerary was very compact and I am very happy we made it.
We went in January during the rain season, so it was clear we have to deal with the weather. And in fact, we got 1m of fresh snow one day before we wanted to start. Pedro wad also flexible here, we shifted most of the itinerary by one day, and arranged it such that we have the most accessible mountains first.
And from our plan we managed to reach almost everything, except for Pequeño Alpamayo, where we stopped at Cerro Tarija 30m below, since the col and the ridge looked too dangerous. Actually I was happy that we made it so far despite the conditions. Pedro opened a path in the deep snow and we had to search some paths to cross the crevasses. Originally we also had Sajama and Cabeza de Condor in our mind if conditions would be perfect, which they were not, so we stuck to the base itinerary.
I also have to say that Pedro is a very open person who likes to share stories and talk about his live and I am happy to call him my friend now. I will be very happy if I manage to come back to Bolivia in the future, and would be very happy to go into the mountains again with Pedro in Bolivia, or somewhere else.
I can fully recommend Bolivian Mountaineering as tour operator. I would like to emphasize particularly the fast response time, their flexibility, and their dedication to create a customized personal itinerary.

Well-being first, for example Pedro checked the weather before our trip and advised against us going at the time so we changed our plans because we were able to.
Bolivian Mountaineering is also an ethical company - a small % is donated to the local community. We had the experience of a lifetime thanks to Bolivian Moutaineering and strongly feel we wouldn’t have achieved our goals with another company having seen the difference in service provided. Everything is geared towards helping you achieve your goal. A lot of thought is put into the whole experience
The equipment they provided was to European standards, they even provided some things we hadn’t even asked for that were extremely useful.
Our cook Dani was amazing, providing not only really nutritious but also delicious meals. The Altitude can affect your appetite, we ate it all! Again we noticed the stark difference in what other tours were providing.
The accommodation they book is done with a lot of thought, they want you to rest. They are the only company we saw providing porters, again all this helps to conserve your energy for the summit on day 3.
José our guide was phenomenal, and honestly we felt like family for a few days! Pedro himself joined us for the summit, which was incredibly kind (and helped us achieve our goal!). We faced treacherous conditions and Pedro will put your safety above all else. He is an extremely experienced moutaineer (as are the guides he works with). We felt at ease immediately on meeting with him, and knew we had to book here.
This company is worth every penny and more. I spoke to a lot of company’s providing this tour and I can 100% recommend Bolivian Moutaineering for all your mountain experiences in this beautiful country

I had an amazing experience working with Pedro, Obi and the Bolivian Mountaineering team. They provided 'door-to-door' service and made the trip one to never forget.
We summitted Austria, Tarija, and Potosi during our 7 days in Bolivia. The team was very professional and I always felt safe despite my relative inexperience. They provided any equipment that we were lacking. The food during the expeditions was amazing and nourishing.
I'm already talking about our next adventure with the Bolivian Mountaineering team. Highly recommend that you work with this group as there are a number of Bolivian mountaineering groups that are untrustworthy and only care about pushing people quickly in order to have them turn around sooner...

Never been to Bolivia and I don't even speak the language, rolled the dice and ended up booking 3 peaks with them. What an amazing surprise. Very friendly and knowledgeable guides, they picked me up at the hotel, cooked me some amazing food. Always looked out for me, we had some nice conversation during the drives. Can only just recommend them, 5 star service!!!

I had an outstanding time with Bolivian Mountaineering. They worked with me to create a custom itinerary such that I could work in La Paz during the week and go out to climb on the weekends - Pico Austria, Huyana Potosi, Acotango, and Sajama. They picked me up each weekend from my hotel, and accommodated me on a last minute change one weekend so that I could still do the climb.
The guides all spoke good English, shared their personal stories, roped me up for any sketchy sections, and made me feel comfortable the entire time. Pedro in particular was amazing - super strong climber, upbeat guy, and someone that I really enjoyed my time visiting with as we drove and climbed.
This is unquestionably the company I would use if I'm able to make it back to Bolivia in the future.
The guides all spoke good English, shared their personal stories, roped me up for any sketchy sections, and made me feel comfortable the entire time. Pedro in particular was amazing - super strong climber, upbeat guy, and someone that I really enjoyed my time visiting with as we drove and climbed.

Bolivia Mountaineering is one of the best guide companies I've ever had the pleasure working with, and they go above and beyond to assist there clients any way they can for a successful expedition. They have some of the best guides in all of South America. Pedro is a machine, his knowledge and passion for the mountains is unmatched. Multiple successful summits with an unforgettable sunrise on Huayna Potosi. I'll be using Bolivia Mountaineering in the future not only for my expeditions in Bolivia but all over South America. I can't wait to go back!

Great guides and professional service. We ended up being the first to summit the mountain the day we climbed. I would recommend. Quick to respond to questions.

A fantastic experience with Pedro and José. They treated us like royalty and guided us very well through deep snow and dense cloud. Unfortunately we didn't make the summit of Acotango due to the weather on the final ridge, but Pedro did get us to 6000m, which was a great consolation prize.
The trip to the hot pools afterwards was just the icing on the cake and felt well deserved.

Amazing guide and trip. Pedro is a top notch guy and guide. He has grown up in the mountains and has it in his blood. Trip was fantastic. I'm planning to come back next year!!
