We had a great experience making different kinds of kimchi. The class was well organised. We took it home with us but couldn't bring it back to Australia.

This class was so much fun. I highly recommend doing this while you are in Seoul. You meet the instructor, Chef Jomin, at the train station. It is a short walk to the Mangwon market. This market is on the city limits with very few tourists when compared to other markets in Seoul. She walks you through the entire market and explains the food at many of the stands. You then have 15 minutes to explore. Then you go to her kitchen and start your cooking. You make 4 different, most delicious kimchis and end up taking quite a lot home. Because of this, I recommend taking this class at the beginning of your stay if you are there on vacation. You also get to take home a cookbook that has many delicious recipes. If you take her 3 course meal class, those recipes are in there as well. To be honest, the food we made in both these classes was the best we had during our stay in Seoul. My friend is vegetarian. Chef Jomin was extremely accommodating for her and for any other people who needed variations from her recipes. Chef Jomin is so kind and a wonderful instructor. Her staff is kind and helpful as well. Finally, we made an error in scheduling and were no-shows for our first class. Chef Jomin was so nice and let us reschedule with no penalty and no extra cost. If you do nothing else in Seoul, I recommend taking both of Chef Jomin's classes. You won't regret it.

This was brilliant! I was going to find a birthday present for my husband, we are very happy to cook, and a food course is not wrong. This course gave us a good introduction to Korean cooking, something we don't know very much about before.
The course started with a tour of the food market, with a good introduction to the various ingredients and key ingredients in the Korean cuisine.
The course room is great, where each participant gets their own station, and prepares the food themselves. That's great! The tips we get along the way allow us to make our food at home without too much bleeding.
The course is arranged so that we get the opportunity to chat a little with the other course participants along the way, which gives a good social mood.
But the most important thing may still be the course holder’s knowledge, guidance and mediation! And the very tasty dishes it resulted in!
In addition, there was good dialogue along the way in the booking process and easy to be “found” at the metro station.
Tips for Northerners: Buy with chili, chilipaste and sesame oil from the food market!

This class was amazing!! It takes you out of the tourist area to an awesome market where everything about the market is explained. Then you proceed the cooking studio and there you cook delicious, authentic Korean food. This was the best food we have had thus far on our trip. Highly recommend this tour!

This was so much fun and all the kimchi we made was delicious! It was then accompanied at the end with fried tofu and pork which paired so well. The trip to Mangwon market was fabulous and we were shown different types of street foods which were delicious! I recommend that you do this experience early on in your trip to Seoul as you go home with the kimchi that you make!!!

My family and I really enjoyed the class. The instructor was very informative and gave good insight into Korean cooking. I appreciated the cookbook at the end, and the fact we got our own copies. The walk through the Mangwon market was excellent as well. I would definitely recommend this cooking class. Glad we did it.

We loved this kimchi making class. The market tour was so interesting and informative.
The cooking classroom facility was perfect. Jomin was a gelreat instructor. She was articulate and easy to follow and we all successfully made our own kimchi. We also had the best time with the others in the class and made some new friends. I highly recommend this particular class and instructor.

I am glad I made the
Reservation; our host was amazing. The walk through the market added a great dimension to the cooking class; (learned about various ingredients as well as some Korean cultural information) I would recommend this event.

Can we be picked up from the airport and returned back?

Sorry, but I only pick guests up from Mangwon station. You can come to Mangwon station easily by subway from the airport.

You can find all the informations on her website (cookorean. com) anyway for the 3.5 hours class including the market tour (which is very nice since you get to know many specialties that otherwise wouldn't be noticed) is 55.000 won, which is around 50 euros
