We want to thank Explorer Kenya for our amazing safari! Especially we want to highlight how happy we are that Henry Kishoyian as our guide. During these five days Henry managed to hear what experience we would like to get and delivered upon it. As chaotic as Kenia traffic is Henry always remained calm and took care of us. Thanks to his experience, knowledge and network with other drivers and rangers we were lucky to see lion families twice, cheetahs, a leopard eating a gazelle on the tree from very close, countless giraffes, elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, hippos, rhinos, zebras, crocodiles, all kind of birds. We appreciated him to be passionate and caring about animal world, always respecting the rules to preserve the nature. We also want to mention he was very punctual. Once we are back in Kenya we cannot desire a better guide.
Explorer Kenya is a very trustworthy company with huge experience. We were very happy with the service. Also we appreciated how quickly they responded to all our stupid questions through emails. They are flexible to follow your offers and wishes. Feel free to ask to book the hotels you like if they differ from proposed.
Thank you one more time for delivering so much joy and memories!

We drove the entire trip starting with our pickup in Nairobi and Moses was nothing short of great! We learned a lot from him just being on the road and on game drives. It was also pretty cool that during our drives he seemed to know all of the other drivers, officials, and people in various villages. Moses was very flexible with us on options/plans and always got it done.
My favorite part was our teamwork to finally track the elusive leopard to round out the big 5! It took us 1.5 hours for it to get within 15 yards as we zipped around projecting where it would go next. It was pretty fun!
All of the camps that we worked with Purity to arrange were amazing as well. I highly recommend the walking safari in Lake Naivasha too. I recommend you bring snacks to keep in the jeep as you drive.
Overall I highly recommend Explorer Kenya and this post is mostly driven by the fact that they had the best communication when I started the process via email and Moses was an amazing guide/driver.

Explorer Kenya was absolutely extraordinary. I spent 6 days on safari at the end of April / early May, and have nothing bad to say about my trip. Arranging things was easy, and the team at Explorer Kenya helped me find the right itinerary for me. My guide/driver Sammy picked me up right on schedule and he was excellent: a skilled driver who was talented at finding the animals and getting me in position to get some fantastic photos. The accommodations were perfect - clean and comfortable, and the staff was conscientious. Food was delicious.
I travel a lot and this is probably one of my best trips ever. I would do it again in a heartbeat, and the first people I would call is the team at Explorer Kenya. I have already started recommending them to my friends.

We had amazing days in Masai Mara. Our experience with James (our guide and driver) has been awesome, he tried his best to find the Big 5, and we did It!
Instead this is not the most important in Masai Mara, thanks to his ability driving we get to everyplace, he taugh us everything about wildlife in Masai Mara and great migration.
Moreover he is a very nice a close person.
Booking with this agency has been easy, with all the facilites for us and with very good prize.
We recomend them 100%.

We had a 5 days Safari in Tsavo East (Maneaters Lodge) and Amboseli (Kibo Camp) with the best guide Douglas! Everything was perfectly organised, the company do their best!!! We start from Mombasa AirPort with a Land Cruiser to Tsavo East, where we spend 2 nights, Than 2 nights at Amboseli, finaly back with train to Mombasa. Our favorite was Tsavo with it’s beautiful landscapes and hundreds of red elephants. But the Whole Safari was much more better Than we expected. Everywhere the food was very good and the staff very friendly.
Pro tip: choose the last tent in Maneaters Lodge, where the hippo sleeps. 😉

My first time private safari was marvelous with James who guided me hard to find not only big 5 but also small critters. He gave me great opportunities for spots to observe the animals in their nature habitat plus his extensive experience and knowledge. I felt that James has passion besides scene of mission to his job.
Explore Kenya was the best choice for me!! I had asked several tour companies for etimates but Robert always responded promptly. I've never met him but I assume he is competent person.
I'll be back with my friends!!

We did 1N Aberdare, 2N Samburu, 1N Nakuru, 2N Mara, 1N Naivasha, 2N Amboseli, 1N Tsavo West.
It was a picture perfect trip, one of the most memorable holidays that we ever had.
We were supposed to travel in Nov 2020 but couldn't due to the pandemic.
Robert Murigi, the owner of the company was in touch throughout and finally we planned for May 2023.
Robert is a first generation entrepreneur, extremely ethical, transparent, hard working and is available 24x7. One of our close friends had done a trip with him and that's how we came to know of him.
Explorer Kenya is one of the most respected names of all safari companies in Kenya and they very well live up to the reputation. Fairly priced with high service standards.
Robert connected us to Purity Kawira who answered all our questions and made very valid and logical suggestions. She planned an impeccable itinerary and made sure everything was in order from start to end.
Now coming to the Captain of our trip, Daniel Kimani (Daniki) our friend, guide and driver. Daniel is an exemplary guy, polite, cheerful, committed, law abiding, extremely trustworthy and very helpful. He is a very fine driver and is very very knowledgeable. He has 20+ years of experience, knows the terrain, culture, fauna, and flora extremely well. His knowledge of wildlife is amazing and spots animals and birds in a blink of an eye. He is an expert on birds too and was reading a book on birds during his free time in the safari. He was the first one to sight the big cats at most of the places.
With Daniki, we felt as if we were traveling with a friend. We will miss him a lot.
We strongly recommend that if you want to have a lifetime experience, do book your safari with Explorer Kenya!!

Our tour was amazing, especially thanks to our guide Martin who went above and beyond in ensuring we saw the best of Masaai Mara during our 3 day tour. We were able to see 4 out of the big 5, with amazing sightseeings along the way. Company was responsive, serious and made us feel comfortable from day 1. Highly recommended!

Had an incredible safari experience in Lake Nakuru and Maasai Mara! Mike Maina was a wonderful guide. I'll never ever forget it. Tip, go for the Land Cruiser over the Nissan van for better visibility and comfort for the trip... We did and were grateful the entire time. We saw EVERY kind of animal and the Mara is a beauty to behold!! I'd recommend this trip and Explorer Kenya to anyone!

We had an amazing experience with Explorer Kenya and our guide, Mike! He picked us up from our hotel in Nairobi and we headed to Lake Nakuru for a night and saw so many of the animals in our first game drive. (Leopard, Lion, Zebra, Rhino, Giraffe, Baboons, Hippo, Impala, Vervet Monkey, Flamingo, Storks, Water Buffalo...) Mike could spot and identify animals that we could only see with our binoculars! He was flexible when we wanted to adapt our itinerary to include a stop at Lake Elmenteita to see the blanket of pink flamingos too. We drove to the Masai Mara and did a total of 4 games drives in the Masai Mara Triangle, where we got closer to cheetah and lions than we ever thought possible. Plus baby elephants, crocodiles, vultures, and so much more. The accommodations that Explorer Kenya booked were luxurious and the food was incredible. I would highly recommend Explorer Kenya and Mike for your next Safari!

Sir, Those of you who have visited Samburu, masaimara etc. can tell about mosquitos problems in the daytime as well as night.

Hello,
We just returned from our safari organized by Explorer Kenya which was excellent.
Everyone’s needs are different but in brief here are some tips:
- The Masai Mara is phenomenal: we stayed two days and we felt it was enough time to see the animals we wanted to see.
-our accommodation was excellent: tented camp at Eden Camp: it’s more “glamping” truthfully, but traveling as a family we needed some comfort: the tents have beds and bathrooms and are beautifully decorated. It’s located in the middle of the savannah by a river where a resident hippo lives: it’s breathtaking!
- on the third day we drove to Lake Nakuru: it’s a long drive but very beautiful. Lake Nakuru National park is also stunning. We only stayed a day.
- I have friends who live in Kenya who visited another lake called Lake Naivasha (if we had more time we would have gone there too) where you can go on an island, where there are no predators, and you can actually walk among giraffes and zebras: the photos I saw are just spectacular.

Our suggestion is to talk to Explorer Kenya and ask for a private safari Tour. You don‘t have to share the jeep with others and the trip will be as you want it to be.
You should also decide if you want to see different national parks or as we did only Masai Mara. To stay only in the Masai Mara avoided many hours of driving and more hours of safari game drives.
And you should be clear about what kind of accomodation do you want - Luxury lodges or Budget Camp.
