The tour does take you to the Great Wall and the Ming Tombs, and as promised, they do take you to see from the exterior (from far away) the Water Cube and the Bird's Nest. However, the "National Stone Museum" is merely an attempt to sell you jade stoned figures at high prices, keeping you there for more time than you would actually want to spend there. Furthermore, the "Dr. Tea House" is nothing more than a classic Tea House from Beijing. Classic, as in the usual scamming tea house move. They do give a good exhibition on how to drink tea, and you get to share some tea afterwards, but at the end of the day they will start trying to sell you boxes of tea at "discount prices". I ended up purchasing two boxes of tea for 350 RMB, which I later found it a kiosk at the airport for 50 RMB each.
At the end, they will not ask but instead demand for a tip for the driver, regardless of having already paid for transport since the beginning.
Brief: it is an ok tour if you want to see the Great Wall, but you have to overcome every scam obstacle in between.

I just arrived in Beijing and wanted to see the Great Wall. My friend Regin informed me about the travel agency that he used from his previous trip. He gave me Andy's contact number and Andy provided me with information about the tour and I immediately agreed to go on Thursday June 11.
I was picked up from the Orange Hotel where I stayed around 7am. The driver was on time. We then went to pick up some more people to join us in our group tour. Our group was composed of people coming from India, Columbia and Indonesia. It was a nice group. I got to know other people from other countries and our main language for communicating with each other is English.
I also met our tour guide. His name is Tony. Tony is a very kind person and speaks English well. He provides information about the places where we are going and is able to answer our questions.
First stop was the Jade Shop (China Beijing National Stone Place). It was explained to us how important Jade is to the Chinese. Somebody showed us how they carve a Jade Stone into an object specifically a "family ball". Then, we went to see some more items from their shop like jade bracelets, necklaces, house decorations and more. I bought a family ball for souvenir since I was told that it is real jade. You know, lots of people in the streets selling jade and you don't know if its the real one. We spent around 30 minutes here.
Second and my favorite stop is the Great Wall. We went to the Badaling Section of the Great Wall. Our tour guide suggested for us to take the cable car going up and down (100rmb) since it was kind of raining when we arrived. You can actually walk your way up if you like to. We took the cable car and it was just a few minutes going up. There were lots of people and the view was just amazing! I was able to take a lot of pictures of the Great Wall and enjoyed walking up and down the stairs. There is also a part where the slope is very steep. The tour guide was right, some of the places were slippery. Good thing it did not continue to rain and sun came out. We were given like 1 hour and 30 minutes to walk around the Great Wall. It was enough time for me. I went down and met the group around 1230pm.
We then went to China Creen Restaurant where we had our awesome lunch! Food was good and delicous. It is also in this place where there is a factory for Cloisonne or enamelware. Cloisonne have originated in Beijing during the Yuan dynasty and prevailed during the Jingtai period(1450-1456) of the Ming dynasty. It's typically called "Blue of Jingtai" as blue was the dominant color used for enameling, Cloisonne ware was only used for the royal families before. It was the symbol of authority and status. Cloisonne is the everlasting art and loved by the people of the world.
Fourth stop was the Ming Tombs or Tombs of the Ming's. The Changling is the burial Mausoleum of Chengzu (1360-1424), Zhu Di - the 3rd Emperor of the Ming Dynasty and Empress Xushi. The mausoleum is composed of the underground structure (burial chamber) and surface palace. The Changling is the biggest in scope among the mausoleums in the Tianshou Mountain. Tony provided us with lots of information about the Emperor and some stories about the place. We stayed here around 1 hour.
Last stop is the Tea House (Dr. Tea). We were provided information on how important tea is to the Chinese. They have different kinds of teas for different purposes. We were also given free taste test. If we like to buy, they have a shop.
After the tea, we were sent back from where we were picked up. It was around 5pm to 6pm when we finished.
I would definitely ask this travel agency to plan my travel when my family arrives here in Beijing. I highly recommend it for others who want to travel in Beijing. Well organized, well planned and always on time.

I visited the Great Wall of China Mutianyu section in December 2014 with my family. It was the best. This travel agency gave us thr best service possible. Our guide was friendly and funny. The bus was comfortable and on time. As vegetarians, they provided us with good vegetarian Chinese lunch. I highly recommend this travel agency.

We had our Beijing Tour with this travel agency and all I can say is that their services are highly recommended! We liked the friendliness of the tour guide and the knowledge he has regarding the sights that we visited. But what I like most is that they are caring and have a great sense of humor and they are fluent in English! Highly recommended agency..

Visited Beijing last week and this tour was the highlight of the visit. The tour was excellent, the guide was friendly and helpful. He explained everything about the places and assisted us with our needs. The food provided was also awesome. It was a cold but was a wonderful experience. We had an amazing day in this tour.

Visited Beijing early Nov, 2014.
The temperature was about 10 degrees celsius but at nighttime it went down to 1 degree.
Beijing was the second part of our vacation, the first being Phuket and Bangkok, Thailand, where many people speak english and the signs are in both Thai and English.
Beijing, however, was a difficult place to travel since almost every sign is in Chinese only and it is hard to find someone who speaks english (unless you don't leave your hotel room.)
We were hesitant about taking a tour guide because of the warnings about scams. However, with the help of the reviews on Trip Advisor, we went with My Beijing Tours and were definitely NOT disappointed. Our first contact was Andy. He provided friendly and helpful service right from the start.
We chose a three day private package. The transportation, meals and entry fees to the attractions were included in the amount. We could split the amount and pay daily or give the total amount on the last day. We chose the latter as we didn't want to be walking around with too much cash in our pockets. Its a bit pricey but when you think of it, its not like you'll be travelling there every year. For us, anyway, it was a once in a lifetime thing so we wanted to see as much as we could in the time we had. We never would have seen as much as we did, had we tried getting around on our own.
Our guide was Eric, who spoke excellent english. He was very polite, friendly and courteous . After a few days, he felt more like a friend than a guide. We were picked up and dropped off at our hotel everyday and were driven around by an experienced driver.
Eric brought us to the most famous atractions such as The Great Wall, The Giant Panda Zoo, the Forbidden City, The Summer Palace, The Temple of Heaven, The Ming Tombs etc etc.... Our package could be customized depending on what we wanted to see.
Our third day finished off with a Rickshaw ride in old Beijing and lunch with a local family but it was very chilly on the Rickshaw ride and the lunch was good but uneventful. Personally I would suggest that you skip the lunch with a local family (we were actually alone in a room and never met the family) and go for lunch with the guide at a restaurant.
All in all, our experience with My Beiging tours was top notch! You will not be disappointed.

ps: For the ladies travelling to China, carry paper tissues in your purse at all times. Not all washrooms have paper, or soap for that matter...

We got mobile number of Andy (Tour Operator) from one of our friend from Shanghai. Andy helped us at every stage of tour starting from booking the hotel in Beijing till post tour follow up.
We had amazing 2 day tour of Beijing. Great Wall, Temple of Heaven, Ming Tomb, Summer Palace, Forbidden City etc. Excellent service, on time tour schedules, very good guides and food arrangements.
I really want to recommend them as a great tour operator in Beijing. Thanks guys for making our trip so amazing. We have memories for years to come.

Hello, I am planning to visit Shanghai the week of April 13th and have a day to spare on April 17th, is it possible to do Shanghai - Great Wall and some other sites in Beijing within one day? I need to fly out of Shanghai on April 19th sunday morning.

If you have a clear day in Beijing keeping time to arrive from Shanghai and return, you can do Great Wall and other sites as Great wall by it self is about half a day. Hope this is helpful.
