I was in Yogyakarta in September and did 2 Photo tours with Johanna (Kampung Sosro and Night scenes around the Palace). Both were very awesome. Since I was already not so familiar with my new camera Johanna told me how do deal with it and how to do the best shots. If you are keen on photography (in my case especially in street photography) I would highly recommend this photo tour. Apart from that it's a very interesting and amazing way to experience the city. Thanks a lot for your support, Johanna!!!

The Photowalk in Kota Gede was a great experience. Johanna did not only have tips to share on photography, but also lots of interesting information about the neighborhood and its history - and is a very nice person, so time was just flying! On top of that, the photos are a nice personal souvenir. Highly recommended activity!

We did a "street art and river" tour and it was amazing! It was great to discover a non-touristic, very authentic neighborhood in Yogya and learn a whole lot about your own camera and picture taking in general. Johanna is a wonderful person and a great teacher. She explains technical details and settings of your camera, shows you the best perspectives and guides you through choosing the best pictures out of the hundreds you took. If you are intersted in getting to know nice places of Yogya and want to improve your photography skills, we highly recommend Photowalks Jogja!

We really enjoyed our PhotoWalk with Johanna. Johanna knows exactly how to deal with different levels and makes everyone feel comfortable, no matter if you're a beginner or already more advanced. We really recommend going on the Water temple tour - it's a beautiful scenery with loads of nice photo opportunities. After the two hours photowalk in the temple we sat into a nearby café and chose our 12 favourite pictures which were slightly edited by Johanna - of course according to our wishes. If you're into photography and want to improve your skills, this PhotoWalk is definitely for you.

Last June my husband and I did the walking tour in the alleys of kampung Sosro and experienced the daily life of people living in this village-in-the-city just off Jalan Malioboro. It was so much fun to talk, joke and laugh with these people, while taking pictures of them. We had some great picture moments shaking hands with an 90+ old man, smoking a cigarette with a friendly villager, chit chatting with women in front of their shop or home and capturing people, cooking sambal goreng telor (Indonesian spicy dish of eggs) and frying tahu (sojabean). Johanna was by our side, helping us to capture these memorable moments and giving us a better understanding of our camera. We enjoyed very much our walking tour and we can recommend Photo Walk Jogja by Johanna to everyone, who is visiting Jogyakarta. Johanna is easy to get along with and my husband and I had right away a liking for her. So will you!

This tour is an unconventional way to visit a city, learn about the way the people live and your camera. It's a must do!

To say Johanna was professional, personable, informative and engaging with her photography and Yogyakarta knowledge would be an understatement. Johanna made this essential tour to do in Yogyakarta incredibly special. It is truly a must for all visitors to Jogja.

I really enjoyed my tour of a local neighborhood and the back gangs and lanes of Jogyakarta with Photo Walks and my guide, Johanna.
Johanna, in addition to her knowledge of these neighborhoods, also displayed great technical and photo skills, and also helped me with a functional issue I was having with my camera.
A nice way to spend a morning in Yogyakarta!

I had a wonderful time on Johanna´s tour! She was a competent, professional and entertaining guide. I learned many things about my own camera and about light, space, etc. It's also a great way to discover Yogyakarta! I will definitely be taking more of these tours through different neighborhoods. I am so pleased with the entire process from booking all the way to receiving the pictures. Fantastic experience!
