The private tour we booked through Apus Peru was possibly the best tour my husband and I ever did while traveling in Peru. Arturo was our guide, and he was so incredibly professional, friendly, polite, knowledgeable, and overall a really great guy. We visited Huasao and had a coca leaf reading (which was a great experience for me), hiked through Tipon, ate Cuy (guinea pig) at a local restaurant, and visited a commercial bakery in Oropesa. I learned SO much on this tour, I loved everything about this. HIGHLY RECOMMEND you will not regret this!!!! Lorena with Apus Peru was super helpful and quick to respond to my emails and was able to help create a personal experience for us.

Apus is a wonderful tour company from the time we started planning, throughout the trip, and after care. They offer lots of trip options with a lot of info on their website to help with choosing and planning a custom 9-day tour for the two of us. The office staff and our guide Mario Tribeno were attentive and very knowledgeable. The accommodations and food exceded our expectations. We are fit 75 year olds but found the altitude a challenge and Apus helped us make accommodations so that we could still see the best of what we had planned. Then one of us had a relapse of Covid which we had had a month earlier and Apus found us immediate medical attention which was excellent and effective and allowed us to continue the trip to Machu Picchu and our other day trips. I can't imagine a better tour company.

Apus Peru is a must to plan a spectacular vacation!

We had a perfectly planned custom tour of Cusco and Machu Picchu. Lorena was kind and patient in crafting our spectacular trip that maximized our exploration opportunities while working within a tight time frame. Adriel was THE BEST tour guide; he was very knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and proud of his town and country. He was most considerate when working with my vertigo on our Machu Picchu trek. I wouldn't have made it to the top without him. I would rebook with Apus Peru in a second if we have the chance to return to Peru!

We really appreciated that this trek started a little later in the day, and we had the pleasure of the Vinikunka peak and walk back, nearly entirely to ourselves. What a privilege! This also speaks to an appreciation of the local challenges of overtourism, and their conscientious approach. William, our guide, was also extraordinarily patient with us, given that one of our group struggled with the altitude more than the rest. He was attentive and encouraging, while managing us in a quiet and confident manner. His knowledge and interest was apparent and we enjoyed his company very much. The Apus Peru team's communication was also excellent, and we appreciated the tailored offering they put together for us. We would highly recommend the company and tour to others!

5 day trek around Ausangate

The trek around the Ausangate massive proved to be even better than expected. Apus has a very professional organisation which shows quality in all aspects. Sustainability and fair payment to its employees. We fully enjoyed the trek and was treated as king and queen by the guide Herbert, the chef Mauro and the two horsemen. Fantastic meals and even cake at the last breakfast !
Herbert could tell a lot of what we saw under ways and had allways an answer. Super flexible and constantly high spirits.

We had an amazing 5-day, 4-night Inca trail trek with Apus Peru and their guide Mario (and their porters). I’d give 10 stars if possible. They are great with kids (our son is 9), and truly were caring, knowledgeable, and provided the best experience possible. A++ in every way.

We had an amazing time doing the 4 day Inca Trail hike. It was quite challenging but such a great adventure. William, our tour guide, is who made it all outstanding. He was patient, experienced, fun, and passionate about Peru and the history it holds. We had the best time!!!!

Apus Peru 5-Day Inca Trail Trek to Machu Picchu

Do this trip before you die! It's impossible to exaggerate the magic of this trip. You should do some practice for the Inca trail, but it is a once in a lifetime experience not to be missed. Apus Peru anticipated every detail and made what could have been a challenging experience as smooth, fun and enjoyable as possible. You will not believe the sophistication of the ruins and the trail itself. The depth, breadth and variety of the flowers, plants, trees, creatures, mountains and rivers are mind-boggling. You will experience several different climates every day! You will sleep among the clouds, descend into the tropics and everything in between. And waiting at the end is the dramatic moment when you finally reach the Sun Gate and then do the final trek to Machu Picchu itself! Our guides were great leaders who knew the history, the plants, the animals and every inch of the trail. The cook was a master chef. The food was unbelievable. Delicious, fresh and plentiful. The porters were kind, generous and attentive. They are incredible. Sarah will answer every question. Apus Peru is an amazing organization.

Phenomenal Experience!!!

A group of us took a 5 day trek to Machu Picchu with Apus Peru. The experience was and adventure of a lifetime. Our guides Arturo and Marco were the absolute best. They were very attentive to our every need and our varying abilities. They ensured we were safe and doing well at all times. Our porters were excellent. They had everything set up for us every time we reached to camp. Their cheerful wake up calls with hot tea and coffee and basins with warm water to refresh our faces every morning were very much appreciated. Before we went, we were a bit skeptical about the food we would be served but our cook Herbert and his assistant surprised us beyond belief. We were treated to gourmet meals that were so beautifully presented for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There was even special meals for the vegetarian in the group! If you are considering a Machu Picchu trek, there is no other company but Apus Peru. I give them an excellent in every category!!

Apus Peru provided an amazing experience. From scheduling months before the trip to the final day of our four-day expedition, the staff and guides were excellent. They are knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. I would absolutely book a trek with them again. Hire local guides and go with Apus Peru. You won't be disappointed.
