Murder mistery

The venue is spectacular and very big. The game I played was quite unique, it was an escape room, but also a crime mistery in a very large space and we had a lot of fun searching for the murderer. They also have a bar and you can serve drinks there. I highly recommend it.

👻 HAUNTED HOTEL - The Codex (🇷🇴 Bucharest)

The Codex offers 5 Escape Rooms and 2 so-called "Challenge Rooms" (games for larger groups in which points are at stake). The Haunted Hotel by The Codex is surprisingly only playable in English. The room is advertised for ages 13 and up. The success rate (teams that checked in... and out) is currently 51%.

The story: On the way to a Halloween party, our car breaks down. As there is no mobile phone reception, we are glad when we discover a remote hotel in the distance and try to get help there. But something seems wrong! The lobby looks very hospitable, but there is no sign of the guests or the hotel staff.

As luck would have it, we played this room, which I wouldn't put in the horror category though, on Halloween. The Haunted Hotel officially accommodates 2-6 guests. However, due to the space available there, we recommend only checking in with two to (at most) four people.

The setting is well done (nice interior and props) and well themed. The room is mostly automated, has a good gameflow and can come up with some nice technical refinements and cool effects. The puzzles are heavily linear, sometimes tricky and sometimes require teamwork. For me, the Haunted Hotel was one of the best rooms on our Bucharest trip.

🎬 It’s Halloween and you’re on your way to a party when your car breaks down in the middle of the road. There’s no phone signal, no houses nearby and no help in sight…Except for a flickering light in the distance.
Having no other choice, you decide to abandon your car and head for the lights. You’re relieved to see you’ve reached a small, isolated hotel. Surely someone in there can help you.
The lobby looks warm and welcoming, but no one seems to be here. It’s suddenly getting very cold and an overwhelming feeling of unease sets in…
Something is off about this place, you need to get out fast!

Loved the Haunted hotel puzzle. Very engaging and only slightly scary 😄. The staff is very friendly as well. Will definitely return for a second escape room.

NOT Another Vampire Story

Very nice room, we had a blast last night for my son’s birthday! Funny, interesting, nice decors, hard puzzles. A very good game that kept us all involved! I recommend Not Another Vampire Story aswell as all The Codex’ rooms!
