Two friends and I rode the B&A (Baltimore & Annapolis) trail this past Wednesday. From the start of the trail off Dorsey Rd we headed out. The trail is nice, all paved and is a nice mix of wooded sections, nieghborhoods, and buisness. The technical end of the trail comes about three miles shy of Annapolis and covers 14.7 miles by our odometer. You can ride along a roadway on a large shoulder to get to Annapolis but we chose not to do it this time. I very much liked this trail with gentle hills and only a few road crossings. There is also a section where a few buisnesses just off the trail have set up tables and we stopped and had ice cream. I will return again for sure.

We ran the B&A from its northernmost point (near Monsignor Slade Catholic School, near the intersection of 176 & 648). From this point (going southwest) the trail is paved and mainly urban, with at least 4 street crossings using crosswalks. At the 1.5 mile mark, you start the B&A Trail Solar System walk, which consists of a built-to-scale representation of the Solar System; this walk begins with a very large metal sculpture of the sun, followed by 18" planet disks spaced out over the next 4.5 miles (in accordance with their actual position...yes, there is a Pluto). The trail becomes more suburban and forested (but still paved) after the 3.5 mile mark.
Arrive early AM, as crowds of people begin to use the trail for biking and walking and running after 0800.

This shared bike, walking and dog trail is a great trail to explore and walk. It is easy and simple to pass the time.

One of the best trails in the area. Well maintained paved trail. Mostly tree lined and provides a nice amount is shade for those hot days. Well used by bikers, bladders, joggers and walkers.

Hey Severna Park people - you have treasure with your B&O walking/hiking/biking trail! What a gem of a park path! The intermittent park benches, some dedicated to loved ones (two and four legged) offered a bit of spiritual repose. The cute coffee shops along the way clearly serve as a local gathering place. Very fun!

Very good for an easy ride. Some stopping for streets, however. While we have electric bikes, they are not needed. Best trail I have been on that requires minimum effort.

Took the family to this trail and we had a wonderful time. There's a bike shop for rentals right along side the beginning of the trail. Great trail. We will go back for sure...

One of the very nice features of this trail is that it is long enough to give you a journey, not just a ride. Go all the way from Annapolis outskirts to the BWI airport, and then circle if you want to. You and your kids will love it.

We got on at Earleigh Heights Ranger Station and rode to the end. It was just over 7 miles of smooth trail each way. Very little elevation. The highlight at 2 in the afternoon was seeing a hawk rise from the leaves clutching some poor soul.

We enjoyed an eight mile out and back walk along this trail. We parked in the lot located at 1700 Governor Ritchie Highway (Route 450), and proceed to walk along the shoulder of Coulters Way for 0.7 miles. Then, we walked on the paved trail that follows the previous railroad right-of-way. The section we walked on was well maintained, secluded, and quite pleasant. We did not note any other opportunities to park along this stretch of trail.
