Our day in Nuuk was fantastic, first we walked around town and stopped at their wonderful museum. You can spend the day just in that museum. Then we saw whales. Then we took a tour and stopped at a lady's home, we had delicious fish chowder and sweet breads. She showed us her beadwork and her son told us all about Greenland. It was a fantastic but too short afternoon.

We were cruising and booked a tour with Tupilak before leaving home. We were met on time right at the pier. The small boat holding about 12 people was right there also. We had a wonderful 2 hour ride through the fjord. Saw some whales, icebergs (not as plentiful as in Nanotalik), and a waterfall coming down from the glacier. Very professional all around. Highly recommend.

My girlfriend and me went to hunt Northern Lights last Tuesday guided by Inesa and she provided a wonderful experience for us. This happened not only because we saw the magnific lights (whose which she obviously can not control) but manly because she knew the best spots in the city to see the lights and because she was very attentions with us bringing warm coffee and chocolate to kindly offer to us in this minus 10 degrees Celsius night.
She made us very happy and we loved the experience part because of her

In de ochtend om 09.00 verzamelen aan de kade en met 8 andere mensen aan boord met een perfect Engels sprekende, zeer enthousiaste gids. De tour duurde 7 uur en de tijd was om voor je er erg in had. Aan boord van alles te horen gekregen over de fjorden, het ijs, de poolkap, de geschiedenis van Groenland, haar rijke cultuur en zelfs de Groenlandse Inuit mythologie werd op uiterst professionele wijze uitgelegd. Door het dichtvriezen van de fjord konden we niet heel dichtbij de gletsjer komen, maar hebben de gletsjer wel van een afstand gezien en zijn we dicht langs ijsbergen gevaren. Ook het deels verlaten eilandje Qoornooq bezocht, waar we in de kerk naar binnen konden en ook het museumpje op de zolder konden we bezoeken. Om 16.00 uur voldaan en een geweldige ervaring rijker gingen we van boord.
Om 21.00 uur werd ik van mijn guest house met de auto opgehaald door twee zeer ervaren en enthousiaste meiden, die de noorderlicht tour organiseerde. De één oorspronkelijk uit Litouwen en de ander uit Mexico. Wij zijn in twee uur op verschillende zo donker mogelijke plekken geweest en hebben het noorderlicht op foto kunnen vastleggen. De twee gidsen hadden het noorderlicht al vaak gezien maar waren nog steeds enthousiast. Wanneer ze de kenmerkende strepen in de lucht zagen. Beide gidsen waren uiterst bedreven met de camera en hielpen ons met het instellen van de camera. Duidelijk een grote meerwaarde van een dergelijke tour met een gids, want we hebben ook concurrerende bedrijven gezien die alleen maar mensen afzette op een donkere plek.
Moe maar voldaan èn met het noorderlicht op ons netvlies weer afgezet bij het guest house!
Zeer aan te raden tours, did het geld meer dan waard waren!

Tur til Qooqqut.
Sejltur, fisketur og efterfølgende luksus middag på restaurant “midt ude i ingenting”. Ord kan næsten ikke beskrive oplevelserne fra denne eftermiddag og aften. Skipper, Niels og letmatros, Sarah sørgede for de bedste rammer for en dejlig tur. Restaurant sørgede for en skøn middag, hvor vores fangst (rødfisk og torsk) blev integreret i menuen.

Itinerary Booked: Package tour ‘Nuuk – Ilulissat 9 days’
My bf and I just got back from Greenland and we honestly couldn’t be happier!! Greenland is stunning, but more importantly I really believe we couldn’t have picked a better agency to create our trip!! We absolutely wouldn't have had the same experience if we took another agency or arranged the trip on our own, so I'm so thankful we found Tupilak and absolutely recommend them for anyone traveling to Greenland!
Malena was my contact, she responded to my email inquiry and was so kind and responsive, very knowledgeable, and always so helpful! I shared my interests and she did an amazing job organizing our package - Plus she would advise me with local perspective on what makes sense and how to really make sure we have the best trip overall!
There are so many reasons why I'm such a fan of Tupilak Travel, but first and foremost is that they're locals. If I visit a new country, I want to learn about/be part of/support the culture and what better way than choose a native agency who is just so excited to share the beauty and love of their country with you? Also in our package, Malena arranged for us to have coffee/tea with a local and Kirsten was the sweetest! She prepared homemade pastries and had a beautiful table set, and we listened to Greenlandic music while discussing her life, Greenland socio/economic issues, traditional vs modern life in 2019… it was just a really fun and insightful afternoon!
But natives aside, I also really believe in this agency and I think they are the best because they are so warm, professional, and really took care to arrange the best trip possible!! A trip to Greenland takes a lot of effort and can be rather pricey, so you definitely want to make sure you book with the right agency.
And Tupilak is that hidden gem everyone is looking
for!!

I'm happy that I found Tupilak travel on the internet as they offered exactly what I was looking for; a 3 day tour of Nuuk. They customized it for me to add an additional day. All my communication was done thru emails and it all went smoothly. Mike was very friendly, personable, helpful and accommodating. The only issue I had was that my city tour had to be changed (for reasons unknown to me) to the same day of my ice fjord tour. This resulted in a rushed abbreviated tour of the city although I had an additional day to tour the city on my own. I would definitely recommend Tupilak travel as they are very knowledgeable and will make sure you get the most from your stay in Nuuk.

NOTE: This review is around my experience using Tupilak Travel for a 2-week holiday that they coordinated and booked for me.
I was referred to Tupilak Travel from a friend and fellow tour guide in Iceland to assist me with my travels to Greenland. I assumed they would be as professional and experienced as my friend. However, sadly they are not. For the amount of money I paid for the trip, I was left disappointed and frustrated by the lack of customer service and experience organising thorough itineraries beyond simple day tours.
A couple of specific points to mention:
- I told my original travel agent, Arnatisuaq, multiple times about my dietary restrictions (vegetarian). Yet on my flight over to Greenland and on one of my tours, they didn't have a meal for me. When I told the agent about this, I was met with "my bad." The devil is in the detail and that's a critical skill to have as a travel agent. Responses such as "my bad" are not acceptable.
- I was provided with incorrect flight information on one of my domestic flights within the country. The flight I was scheduled on was an hour earlier than what the travel agent had provided me. Had I not checked in the night before, I would have missed the flight.
- The final itinerary was basic and lacked key information one would desire when using a travel agent. It would only include, literally, exactly what was purchased, but wouldn't include any necessary details around it, such as meeting locations, names of accommodations (or any notes if wifi/breakfast was included/avail). They would simply share vouchers for each 'activity' that had some relevant notes in there. But they never aggregated it all together in one simple document, which I would expect for what I'm paying. They also didn't note what I needed to arrange on my end, such as transfers, etc. This ultimately caused endless back and forth emails with them and also with the providers directly to get more details. Worth noting, two of the companies I went on tours with ended up providing me helpful information around what to pack, which I would have expected Tupilak to share.
- There was no effort to share valuable information re: visiting the country, unless you asked for it. I ws told me a few days prior (after asking for tips) that it would be a good idea to have a mosquito net. This sort of information should be shared upfront.
In summary, they book your tours and your flights -- but that's it. They don't go beyond that to ensure you have all the information you need to feel comfortable about your daily activity. They rely on a basic schedule (attached) + vouchers for you to see yourself through your trip.
When I brought all this to the attention of the managing director, Henrik, he told me he didn't think I was a "real customer" because at two points prior I had to either cancel or consider canceling the trip due to work. Ultimately, he didn't listen to my feedback and said I was "pulling their leg" about coming to Greenland, when I was literally sitting in their country at that very moment. It's sad to see the same lack of customer service exhibited in their senior leadership.
The only two bright lights at Tupliak Travel were Mikey and Marlena (who I ended up working with once I arrived in Greenland). They are good guides for day-of needs. Both were kind, patient and took the time to share as much detail with me as possible when needed for trips they were taking me out on in Nuuk.
If you're looking for a day tours in Nuuk, sure, Tupliak Travel is fine. They have nice things to do in the area and good guides. But if you're looking for assistance in booking a longer trip, as I did -- do yourself a favour and use another agency or book it on your own. The team is inexperienced in providing competitive and top-notch service at the price point you will be paying.

Thanks for your review and sorry for answering so late. I actually didn´t know how to answer as we at Tupilak Travel had a very different experience of your troubles. I can honestly say that you were a most interesting customer. We were happy to see on your instagram profile that you had a great stay here in Greenland and like to think that at least part of this was due to the effort of your travel agency.

Var med Tupilak på fjordsafari kombineret med besøg i Qoornoq, hvor vi var til kaffemik hos Victoria og smagte grønlandske delikatesser som nyrøget ørred, tørfisk og mattak samt de lækreste kager. Turen kan virkelig anbefales, kombinationen af sejlads, besøg i gammel bygd og kaffemik er lige i øjet. Vi så to pukkelhvaler og nød godt af solskin i fjorden, mens der var tåge og skyer i Muuk.

I visited here and they were really helpful and patient in answering all my questions. They were in the middle of town so easy to find. They have a small shop, and lots of maps.
