SCAM ALERT! 🚨⚠️ Sep 19, 2021
First time visiting Odessa with my husband we were enjoying our visit until our experience was ruined by aggressive ‘pigeon’ scammers in Mis’skyy park. We entered the park from the Derybasivska street and almost immediately were confronted by a young woman with exotic pigeon who insisted we pet her pigeon and take pictures. After we declined her offer she briefly followed us with offers to take pictures with her pigeon and my husband eventually asked the price and this woman said 100 UAH, we agreed to take pictures for 100 UAH. While one of the women was taking our pictures, her assistant came with more pigeons and placed several more pigeons on our arms and shoulders. It took about one minute and after they took pictures both women walked up very close to my husband and demanded 600 UAH! When my husband asked why they changed the price from 100 to 600, one of the women shouted that it is 100 per pigeon! This was a total lie and we knew that we were being scammed. This being our first time dealing with scammers in Odessa we were intimidated into paying up 600 UAH.

The good thing here is there are no homeless bedding in the benches. Bad thing, the robbery style fleecing in garden cafe could we'll make anyone homeless.

Есть что посмотреть и с чем сфотографироваться! Даже поздней осенью. В дневное и вечернее время выглядит по-разному. Нам не хватало "прикольных" указателей на "достопримечательности" парка. Два дня ходили и искали Кису Воробьянинова и Остапа Бендера, а оказалось проходили совсем рядом.

We had a regrettable situation at this restaurant, because the staff were trying to steal money from us. We are a couple with a young baby, that was enjoying being out in the open, but when the bill came, the waiter tried to con us and make us pay an extra 236 UAH. Unfortunately this happens a lot in ukraine, and people here are very untrustworthy. We complained and asked to speak to the manager. She did not look at all surprised by this problem, and offered nothing in compensation. She had the face of bull-dog chewing a wasp. It was not pleasant, and I wouldn't recommend coming here due to the high amount of dishonest people (this can be applied to both the restaurant and the country).
