Scendendo a Cattaro da Lovcen lungo la famosa strada “Serpentina”, si arriva ad un punto panoramico dove la stretta strada lascia spazio a uno slargo dove è possibile parcheggiare per godersi la vista sulla baia di Cattaro nella sua interezza con le sue ramificazioni. Una sosta d’obbligo perché il panorama è unico.

There are multiple views out over the Kotor as you climb the Serpentine; I think this is the highest of them, although it's not completely clear which location they mean. In any event, the entire road is scenic and well worth the drive. Be aware that they're not kidding that it's "serpentine" with a bunch of switchbacks. The road is narrow and difficult to pass, so if you have your own car make sure the driver is experienced. But given that, this is most definitely worth driving up to. I recommend early morning or towards sunset for views and less traffic.

Si te gusta conducir por carretera de montaña, está es una espectacular. Multiples miradores para contemplar el conjunto de la bahía de Kotor. Fantastica también para hacer en bicicleta (si tienes fuerzas). Por orientación del sol, perfecta para hacer por la mañana

The serpentine road out of Kotor is amazing breathtaking views combined with sharp slopes is a drivers dream. Next to that you can take amazing picture

magnifique vue ( pour les enfants qui sont allé au bout des marches ) . En revanche assez cher ( on paye au début de l'escalier ) et pour le prix , une bouteille d'eau pourrait être fournie ... des petits malins en vendent en haut au prix de la soif !!!

We did a private tour with Mont Travel (owner/operator Dimitrije Jovicic) and one of our stops was this lookout that provided a beautiful view of Kotor and the entire peninsula that our cruise ship sailed in from the Adriatic Sea.

Strada panoramica con punti stretti (se si incontrano autobus può diventare un problema) e piena di curve a gomito. Nonostante qualche piccolo "disagio", regala degli scorci mozzafiato. Da non perdere!

Стоит всех нервов на серпантине и 400 крутых ступеней внутри тоннеля на вершину) Вся страна, как на ладони. Обязательно к посещению!!!
Не слушайте, что пишут, что не подняться!) Неспеша, пропуская автобусы. Но это того стоит. Вознаградите себя эмоциями, впечатлениями, красотищей и вкусным обедом в кафешке на вершине! Я боялась страшно, но пожалела бы ещё страшней, если б не увидела своими глазами этот вид)

You will get the best views of the Bays from this point. Absolutely incredible. Be aware that getting there is not easy. If you go by car bare in mind that the street is very narrow and sometimes vans and even coaches are coming your way. It is a game of millimeters sometimes. So if you are not up for a challenge you better book a tour which bring you up there.

Hi we are staying in Kotor for one night as our son walked to the resturant from Kotor and suggested we took a taxi up and walked down the mountain path. How much is a taxi from Kotor to the restaurant as it seems you did this journey. We have 7 nights in Herceg novi but want to visit Kotor.

Did anyone get there by walking from Kotor? Is the road safe enough to walk to this place? How long did it take?

We used the taxi to return from a nearby restaurant and discussed it with the driver, I think the name of the firm was in my review. It was easy and we couldn’t believe how cheap it was !

Previous answer is a mistake, it describes the hike to Vrnac instead. Sorry about that. But yes, you can hike up to Lovcen too. It’s not dangerous, sometimes just a bit scary at the last part if you’re afraid of heights, but always doable. Start at the beginning of the ‘ladder of Kotor’ behind the shopping center. Near the top you can do zip-lining, and there’s a restaurant near the start of the national park.
