Varna gold isn't there... The only reason I wanted to visit this place. Maybe some of it, but it wasn't clearly identified. The famous pieces are not there - when I asked, they said it was somewhere in USA.

Splendida la sezione dei ritrovamenti del 1978 dei primi ori della civiltà. L’oro di Varna è la maggiore attrazione storico-culturale della città. Before travelling to Varna we researched its points of interest and the Archeological Museum was at the top of the list.
Museum is filled with artefacts displayed in chronological order and illustrate a vast historic period for Varna and its surroundings. The oldest forged gold artefacts are truly the highlight and are well worth the time. There are exhaustive historical facts and details regarding the diggings presented in English.
A must if you are a hobby historian or just want to find out more about our days Bulgaria and the Black Sea area.

This museum in Varna displays the history of this city, Next to the Romans Greeks and Vikings!!! the city was inhabited for a long time. The museum is known for finding of the first civilisation to forge gold. Earing of over seven thousand years old still wearable today Really amazing

I'm not much of a museam guy but was reccomended by the tourist information Centre to go here. There was plenty to see and some really old gold. It was cheap enough.

Nous y sommes allés pour voir de quoi ça avait l’air, nous avons passé 1h dans le musée (sans lire tout ce qu’il y avait à lire, nous avons juste regardé).
Alors ça passe une après midi, si vous aimez l’histoire ça vous plaira, le musée retrace l’histoire de Varna de à partir de la préhistoire.
Pour finir, nous n’avons pas payé l’entrée, donc je ne sais pas si le musée était censé être gratuit mais nous n’avons pas trouvé où payer.

Bijzonder om het oudst bewerkte goud van de wereld te bezoeken. Een mooie tentoonstelling van diverse tijdperken. Ook een lekkere verkoeling in de zomer binnen.
