This is the most beautiful church of Sibiu and it is still in use. The decorations are very impressive and you need more eyes to see all details. Just take a seat and enjoy the views. It is free to get in, but a small contribution is appreciated. Half an hour is enough for this impressive church. PS respect the people that are praying there.

Like so many of Romania’s beautiful towns & cities, Sibiu is blessed with myriad churches, but if you only have time for one, my money would be on this stunner. Known in English as The Orthodox or Holy Trinity Cathedral, it is conveniently situated in the centre of the old town. Inspired by Hagia Sophia it has the wow factor, outside, & in, most particularly within - do not miss the amazing neo-Byzantine interior decoration.

It's definitely a beautiful landmark, lovely religious service and breathtaking architecture. I highly recommend to visit it, whether you're religious or not.

Beautiful cathedral with a rich history, it's quite modest from the outside but a lot of details on the inside It's located right in the centre of the town, so you shouldn't miss it.

Ich war vorher noch nie in einer orthodoxen Kirche und deswegen sehr beeindruckt. Diese Kirche ist sehr bunt und hat viele Bilder an Wänden und Decke. Der Eintritt war frei und ich fand es einfach spannend das Gebäude anzuschauen.

Very much depends on your religious and aesthetic taste. And probably more impressive if there is enough sunshine or interior lighting, as in the Tripadvisor photograph, otherwise a bit gloomy. An early 20th century building with highly decorated walls and ceilings. Significant historical interest.

On the Mitropoliei street in Sibiu you will find the Holy Trinity Orthodox Cathedral. It is an impressive building - fairly new - only 100+ years old but definitely a landmark of the city.
You can get to the cathedral by your own car, parking places are rare so be prepared to not find an empty spot close to the building. Public transportation or walking is the other option.
For those into arts and architecture for sure it will be very interesting - especially the painted walls with the biblical representations.
Don't forget is a cathedral, hence a holy place of worship so if you want to visit dress accordingly and regardless if you are a religious person or not show respect inside the church.
Visiting is free of charge, they welcome donations like in any other church around the world.
For sure it is worth paying a visit here - if you are in Sibiu include the church on your city tour.
